The more I read and see about him makes him seem very marketable. Gary Shaw stated that initially he was not under contract and after a few fights began to show he had promise. Before his most recent fight he borrowed money from Shaw because his baby girl was sick and paid it back-- Shaw told him to keep the money but DeMarco insisted that he had to pay it back because it was a loan. He is real humble and hard working his tough life reminds me of Rocky Balboa. Just wondering what the forum thinks of him, so please post. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLepabXmAu0[/ame]
Likeable guy, comes to fight, huge heart. I'm afraid he's a step below Valero in talent though, and is gonna get brutally ktfo with his come forward and fight style.
at 8:33 he falls down crying for joy thanking everybody who has helped him he then hugs Marvin Quintero his stable mate tells him thank you my friend He then yells I love you Gary (Shaw) hard to not cheer for the guy real touching [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQF-q8PjkYg&NR=1[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHUzqFw_K5o&NR=1[/ame]
I've said before watching him celebrate a victory is just as good as watching him actually fight I mean come on, DeMarco says after his win vs Alfaro 'thank you to everyone who gave me food when I did not have any.' Now that is somethin
Good to see a person who appreciates every penny he earns, unlike other fighters who "make it rain" with all their money...he works hard, he's dedicated and motivated. Valero will definetly be an ultimate test for him.
He also says he could not believe that he left his house for the title and came back with it. In his fight with Casal he looked like a prospect with maybe some potential and then you see him grow and develop in his fights with Adjaho and Alfaro and earn a piece of the title. To truly appreciate him you have to compare the Casal fight with the fight with Alfaro.
He owes me for that fight with Adjaho. That was a real stinker. I'll never forget the acting job from Anges on that "rabbit punch" from DeMarco. That said, DeMarco is a humble kid with a lot of skill and an endearing personality. He'll go far even though I think there's a good chance Valero beats him.
I think he beats Valero. Valero is too open and DeMarco has decent power. I think the difference in boxing skill is too much for Valero to overcome. Not to mention i think his power is overrated.
I think it's a matter of who lands first. I'm guessing it's Valero in a barnburner that doesn't go past 4.
I wonder how Valero is going to deal with the many variations of DeMarco's right? Valero has become a nuissance for his promoter due to his metal plates and personality. People around him say that he is stubborn and full of himself. For example he had a big name trainer that quit on him because he thought he knew it all, nowadays, his trainer is the mediocre Alcazar (Oscar's old trainer). I just think that Valero is a one trick pony.
That's no shock really. Valero has been described as a massive douche since his time in Japan as a big time knock out attraction. WITH that said, I want to sort of flesh out my thoughts on DeMarco-Valero. Just so people don't think I'm taking the contrarian point of view. First and foremost, DeMarco starts slowly. In 4 of the 5 DeMarco fights I've seen, he's started very slowly and built to a fiery pace. He struggled out the gate against Jose Reyes, Kid Diamond and Adjaho. He likes to pace himself and spend a few rounds enjoying the physical advantages he's had over his opposition. He likes to fight his fight and does an AMAZING job of making sure that he sticks to the plan. Even with all that said, DeMarco is a slow starter. Valero may take a round to crank it up but when he does, it's guns blazing with heavy fire power from both cannons. If Valero comes out strong, there's a great chance he'll drag DeMarco into a firefight. It's possible DeMarco stays measured and keeps his cool but if Valero comes out firing, he might not have a choice but fire back. I've never seen DeMarco in any sort of MAJOR trouble but if Valero's power is legit (and I think it is), DeMarco won't be able to bide his time early. I'm guessing Valero comes out hot and heavy to kick things off. DeMarco is unable to get comfortable early and finds himself in major trouble right off the opening bell. He tries to stick to his plan but is ultimately overwhelmed by Valero's brutal caveman power punches. He winds up ditching his plan and going into battle mode and ends up getting TKO'd.
Demarco gots some nice skills, Skills that will give Valero all kinds of trouble. Of coarse Valero has the power to turn a fight into his favor with just one punch, so Antonio will have to realy be smart and not fight Valeros fight. I think Demarco can beat Valero, just by outboxing him.
That how I feel about it Valero has a good punchers chance...if this thing goes 12 I just don't see Valero pulling off a decision. Valero has been floored by a journeyman before.
Pay close attention to what he does with his right considering he fights southpaw. Is Valero ready for DeMarco [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zMum9-fgXw[/ame]
