Round 8 Reyes Sanchez is getting away with murder in there, using his chicken wing elbows to brutally wrench Lomeli across the face and push him into the ropes where he can lean on him and land body shots. Lomeli is doing well to fight his way off in little spurts, using overhands - but then the elbows start flying in his face again and Sanchez keeps drumming away downstairs. Uppercuts on the back foot by Lomeli now, clawing tooth and nail to stay unbeaten. Jabs to the face by Lomeli, starting to push forward off the ropes. Sanchez turns his face but doesn't fully move his head out of the way or attempt to block the jabs, just waiting for Lomeli to be done hitting him before coming forward with more body shots.
Round 9 Sanchez shoves in and hip-checks Lomeli into the ropes before drowning him in body shots. Lomeli ducks and rolls, then comes up for a breath of air with a sneaky overhand right. Sanchez has his face ROCKED by a right hand, but keeps coming forward throwing his own bombs. Excellent action... - and, the ****ing WBC feed cuts off abruptly. c EVERY.. GOD DAMN.. TIME..
OK, the feed is back. I think Tony DeMarco is about to walk to the ring. Maybe? He's being interviewed. Hopefully this is a pre-fight interview, and not post-fight. WBC really ****ed up bad if it's post-fight.
As much as I feel your pain, brother, and would have also loved to see the last five minutes or so of action between Sanchez and Lomeli - I really wouldn't rather it be at the expense of missing the beginning of DeMarco vs. Roman. This was the right call by the WBC (although the transition could have been smoother than just cutting to black for three minutes and then "Hey, we're back! At a different venue! ")
Round 1 Right jabs and hooks from outside by DeMarco. Roman comes forward, shell up high around his ears. DeMarco is landing jabs at will, all over Roman's face and hairline. Roman tries diving in with a right to the body, but DeMarco squeezes his forearms together to pinch it out of thin air before backing up and landing more southpaw jabs. Roman rushes forward and tries to bash his way in with some big right hands. DeMarco jumps back with cat-quick reflexes, and keeps pumping the right jab. Nice outside boxing by DeMarco. Double jab, left to the body by DeMarco. Roman can't get past that reach. Roman tries to duck in low, hands glued to the sides of his head. DeMarco's just too quick on his feet. 10-9 DeMarco
lol, the WBC is going to show Martinez vs. Macklin on delay after this. They're showing Martinez in his dressing room having his hands wrapped (from like two hours ago) and trying to build impulse in the audience by hyping it up. atsch
