Big ring seems to favor Acosta.

Rios ALWAYS looks soft. Don't let the Mexican "softness" fool you! It is like evolutionary mimicry - you think, hey, this pudgy little kid doesn't look too tou- BAM.

Freddy Wak is getting nervous. He knows Acosta will defeat his beloved Rios. He is scared to admit this information. I can't wait for this fight to begin. I have analyzed these fighters for weeks in anticipation of this bout.

    Round 1

Acosta is pushed down early on. Rios comes forward behind a tight guard. Acosta lands a NICE right hand up over the top out of a crouch from the outside. He lands it again. Rios needs to watch that. Acosta backs up and turns his head away from Rios' jabs. Acosta is backed to the ropes and throws a jab-uppercut combo to get off. Rios follows, catching Acosta's quick shots on his forearms and lands his right hand a few times as he falls in on him, collapsing against him on the ropes. They scrap on the inside with their arms tied up until Cortez breaks them up. Rios gets Acosta blocking high and then whips a right uppercut down to the body.

He officially "won" the title against Moses.

Acosta-Antillon was an interim title bout.

Round 1 was a very dominant round for Acosta.

I believe he won the interim belt with Antillon and won the belt officially against Moses.

When they were walking in I thought Rios looked bigger but Acosta took off the shirt and ROCKS.

    Round 1

Excellent stuff from Acosta. Stayed beyond Rios's reach and launched some good right hooks. Rios is focusing on his defense, but if the fight continues this way Acosta will frustrate the hell out of Rios, and we saw this near the end of Round 1, Rios is going to go for a combination only to get caught with that right hand by Acosta for a KD.

    10-9 Acosta
