I must admit, regardless of how it ends up, I expected more out of DeMarco tonite.

I'm with you. I figured he would take this guy out. He looked more aggressive when I first saw him.

You know, I kind of thought he was similar to Ponce De Leon: huge ridiculous punch but telegraphing and slow, but when I actually watched the fights I could of his I was impressed. I think there was some hype but he never got disconcerted when he didn't get the early ko. I saw Ponce lose like every round to penalosa I think and still win a decision, completely ineffective aggression, if he can't hurt you he can't win.

Valero could box and adapt, and while he was still a brawler type his speed and fluidity was better than I imagined. He had a cut the size of a planet from an elbow in the demarco fight, and demarco wanted to play it safe, but he still finished him. He would have been the man to beat in a few more steps up in class. Too bad.

    Round 12

DeMarco lifts his arms for the crowd and then starts circling in and throwing lots of punches, 1-2s and right hooks. DeMarco slows down and Sanchez takes over with sloppy hooks and uppercuts. DeMarco moves away as Sanchez looks to either grab and hit or burrow his head in DeMarco's chest and rattle off body shots. DeMarco can't keep him away as every right jab thrown seems to sap him of the energy to get his motor running. Sanchez keeps jumping on him and elbowing him into the ropes, and throwing lots of weak punches. DeMarco backs away and lands a few left uppercuts. Sanchez presses him along the ropes from one corner to the next and keeps landing continuously but without any real damage done.

    10-9 Sanchez

    116-112 DeMarco

the sad thing is that they both are gonna probably come out thinking they gave a morales/barrera type of performance....

Demarco couldn't find Sanchez's face even if Sanchez stood there for a whole round.

The compubox numbers for this will be downright disgusting for a fight that is being televised.

This is the SECOND time I've watched a fight between #1 and #2 in the division and I'm disappointed yet again.

Agreed. He was still very raw but the ability was obvious. A little bit like Pacquiao pre-Barrera, but even less technically sound than that.
