I know he's still only 24 but having all this time off from being in sancitoned professional boxing matches can't be beneficial.. :? any news on him? my guess is he's busy spending time with his family and enjoying his time off...

why not? he looked good before the Valero fight.. hes only 24.. a tall rangy southpaw lightweight with whips for arms and a strong will.. has a good attitude, personable, seems to have a good head on his shoulders. and who else is there around to take that spot once Marquez retires? its either him or Saul Alvarez.. what other mexican fighters are there that will take the top spot in the sport for Mexican fans

DeMarco fought Attah about 6 months ago and I would think that he will be back in the next few months.

Well for a start you have Fernando Montiel who if he was bigger would put Marquez in the shadows !!!

Antonio De Marco is not even close to the standard of being ranked as the next great Mexican fighter , he has skills , and he looks good , but he's made of paper , he has feather fists , and has fought nobody apart from an alchoholic Valero worthy of mention !!!!

Currently @LW the following IMO would soundly beat De Marco :

    Marquez
    Juan Diaz
    Soto
    Guerrero
    Rios
    Funeka
    Gavin Rees
    John Murray
    Katsidis

Id be putting more faith in Miguel Vasquez than De Marco TBH ..............

no those guys arent skilled enough or popular enough. to be the next great mexican fighter you have to not only have skills you have to capture the publics imagination and be able to become a ppv star (morales, barrera, marquez). So no

those brits don't stand a chance against Demarco, they're domestic level, Demarco's bordering on World Class. He beats Rees with ease by KO, Beats Murray by UD. Rios vs Demarco would be very close as would fights with Soto and Guerrero. Marquez, Katsidis, Funeka and Diaz all take him.
