Sorry by breeding ground I mean puroresu was always the next step for ammys to go to. Whether they made it as a pro is a different matter but the next step was pro-wrestling before the MMA boom. Now that boom is over I think you will see a lot more Japanese Olympic wrestlers end up trying out for New Japan.

can anyone tell me why inoki punched machida in the face in the crowd at some sort of jungle themed event??? i saw it briefly on a highlight video. sorry dont have the link.

 

Cos Inoki always has to put himself over. Every now and again he would turn up at shows and do the angle where he slaps wrestlers or fans.

Machida used to be signed to Inoki and thats why he got a slap.
