Well, what do you think of the comparison?

Whilst watching 'The Battle' last night there was more than a hint of 'Escopeta' as Margarito walked Cotto down with clubbing punches to the body and head.

He's upright, solid as a rock and breaks you down with not initally devastating, but well placed shots as did Carlos.

............Nah; different kettle of fish in many ways.

Monzon didn't like to take risks. There's no way he'd just marchin accepting blows to punish the body the way Margo does. He preferred to spear you with sharp, amazingly precise shots from a distance. Margo is not a "sharp" puncher and he prefers to close the distance.

Margo is more a Basilio type.

    Very good post.

I've seen guys today comparing Margarito to Hagler and, now, to Monzon. Margarito is very different.

    That's true.

More so in the delivery of his clubbing punches and deliberate pace than his preferred range of engagement.
