ANTONIO MARGARITO, gym war. Despite what happened this guy was fun to watch

Antonio literally caught w plaster in prefight wraps against Mosley and had a surprising victory over Cotto - exactly 1 fight prior to Mosley - where he bludgeoned Cotto and afterward had these weird looking pink wraps.

Yeah, Margarito a piece of s.hit. He was a piece of sh.it when he made fun of Roach for having Parkinsons and now he has 1 eye.

I know Margs wife left him but I didnt realize his sexuality changed bc you act like u in bed w the boy

 

No he didn't I was at that fight saw Tony's hands wrapped along with the commission Insp & Cotto's trainer
No one saw anything amiss & the wraps were passed & signed off on. There was no mention of anything wrong at all from Cotto or his trainer, They knew they'd got beaten bad. It wasn't till Naz started the lie about plaster blocks in the debacle with Mosley & the whole shebang started that Cotto saw an excuse he could use for getting his butt kicked, like all you haters. It was proven by the independent lab that tested the pads their was nothing dangerous to any opponent or anything beneficial to Margarito. It was just Nasty Naz doing his usual shill except the CSAC fell for it & suspended Margarito BEFORE the wraps were inspected. It was weeks later that the lab results came through.
Cotto suddenly got the courage to rematch Margarito after he knew Pac had permanently damaged Margarito's eye. But despite Margarito only having one good eye from round 2, & the doc knew it, he didn't think to stop the fight though until he saw Tony coming back & whupping on Cotto. as the round ended Margarito stood beating his chest while Cotto slumped in his corner. That doc stopped that fight not to save Tony's eye, but to save Cotto QUITTING on his knees AGAIN!!!!!!!
Now is you claimed that against Luis Resto & Panama Lewis in the Billy Collins fight Id agree 100% with
you That was proven & they were justly convicted

 

Youre just looking for excuses Tony whupped Cotto's butt TWICE!! in reality. Ive kinown Tony since 1999 long before you were born probably Grow up

Antonio really did a bad job of attempting to clear his name but seems like the media had already made their minds up, the amount of people that still talk about plaster is insane, I guess one problem he had was they did try to cheat with those stupid gauze knucklepads not sure how much they'd actually do for him.

 

Yeah i'm surprised that he & his former team didn't try harder to clear his name & put a stop to it if he was not guilty at all,

I know in those days reporters & youtubers weren't exactly present as they have been since the last 10 years or so where they reach there to interview the other side, which they now love doing even if it's agenda driven, even in throughout his other fights after the wrap controversy Margarito never seemed to open up in depth about what exactly happened either to HBO, Top Rank or especially to ESPN Deportes,

I've seen him give interviews now with Morales in his podcasts but not sure if they spoke about that & bought more clarity to the situation,

Very odd as if it was another fighter i'm sure they would be doing anything to clear their name/reputation & would repeatably try their hardest to get the message out there any which way possible.

Why do you guys keep saying things that aren’t true? There was a study done on this long ago. Plaster of Paris would just crumble. Next you will say there was a crack in his wraps.

 

The media and fans were never favorable to him in the first place. He was always supposed to lose to Cintron, Clottey, and Cotto because “hes just a slow plodder with no defense”. They loved when he lost to Santos at 154 and never respected the guy. It was only after the Cotto fight that they had to finally accept he was at that level. Once the Mosley fight happened, they were all safe to go back to diminishing him.

 

Here’s the kicker. If his wraps were hardened, why was he shaking hands with everyone in the ring and nobody to this day has come forward and said they were?

So what isnt TRUE? Dude tried using ILLEGAL handwraps which had some sort of composition like PLASTER.

Dude was on a 12-2 stretch headed into Mosley fight and had 9 KO/TKOs in those 12 wins. So Margs was a MONSTER prior to fighting Mosley. Fast forward to that fateful night and the wraps are discovered. Margs gets walloped and dont fight for 16 months b/c suspension.

MargaCHEATo comes back and fights 6 more times going 4-2 w/ ref stoppage against Cotto. Margs 4 wins were against guys w the following records:

46-5
42-14-2
29-8-3
41-15-3

Goes from 12-2 w/ 9 KOs/TKOs against world level competition to barely squeaking by journeymen...fighting literal journeyman but cant stop any of them.

Losses dont really matter much but the sudden loss of ALL POWER means a lot especially following the tear Margs was on.

Hell 47 y/o RJJ was still KOing/TKOing journeymen but 32 y/o Margs changed overnight from this feared accumulation puncher to...feather fisted cyclops.
