Did I just read someone say "Pressure Cotto from the outside" ? As well as this statement being applied to a fighter like Margarito?

    :huh

So if he does throw 90 a round, then it's only his workrate that could win it? Nothing to do with punches that connects?

When Cotto gets hurt, look out for a low blow like he did to Judah.

He must be allowed to foul as needed and Cotto can only jab back.

Too mnay haters on Margo on this site. I was not a huge fan of him till recently. Actually right now im still rooting for Cotto but a guy like Margo deserves alot of respect. He has fought hard to get to where he is. He did not get any hand outs and puts up exciting fights for us all the time.

All the hating on here makes me want to leave the forum... Its pathetic.

And to the OP. Yes throw alot of punches and dont stop throwing at all. Cottos defense is really his only weakness and you bet your ass the punches will land. Hopefully he can catch him with something big and i dont think Margo would let Cotto escape a dangerous situation. He looks too hungry and focused. However i dont see Cotto getting beaten for a long time.

I do not know who will win, but I have a gut feeling that Margarito will knock Cotto out. On paper, do not know.

$60 is a lot of money for one fight and that is only the beginning, the price will go up. Should be one Hell of a fight though.

If I am Margarito I will use my reach hit Cotto with uppercuts as soon as I see that peek a boo defense of his. If he uses the cross defense I will double the jab and hit him with a big right hand to the body. Try to throw looping right hands too with his peek a boo defense because Shane did that and Cotto was trying to get away from him.

A fast guy can be beaten by making him reach. The longer it takes for him to reach the target the more obvious he is going to be. This is why a guy like Byrd, who is much faster than Klitschko and probably as good with timing, got wiped out.

Anytime you are fighting a smaller, faster man you should establish a good distance. Make him work for every shot. He'll become more predictable as a result. Timing does beat speed but it becomes MUCH easier to time a speedy opponent when you have the reach to keep him at arms length.
