So pac let Marquez, Clottley, and Moslye survive too huh, he couldn't ko him he gave it all he got, nearly got dropped in the process and decided to pot shot.

Are you gonna act like Pac didn't get hit 229 times vereses Margarito, but when Mayweather gets hit 26 times, there is a million threads talking about how Ortiz was giving Floyd all he could handle.

this fight is not a toss up! margs only chance is to jump on cotto quicker because if cotto is bleeding early on he will cave! but the longer it goes this time around marg will be the one in trouble, think all the jabs cotto will land on margs eye, just look at the jabs he landed on mayorga and foreman! cheato cant hide the fact that his eye is ****ed! but cotto will only lose if that on his brow opens early on! cotto tko 9

This is just bait for someone right? Tony's corner should have stopped the fight earlier, instead of letting him take a sustained beating and having his orbital socket broken and a retna detachment.

Tony nearly KO'd Pac and was back peddling all night? I must have missed that while watching Tony get his face smashed in to the point where he was medically restricted to train and was damn near retired.

    From over at the s c e n e.

Antonio Margarito expects to dispose of Miguel Cotto quicker this time around in their Dec. 3 rematch compared to when he faced Cotto the first time in 2008 and stopped him in 11 rounds. Margarito wants to “jump on him right from the beginning,” he told b o x i n g s c e n e .com during a recent press conference to hype the rematch and believes the added weight of their fight will only help him.

“I don’t want to say confident but I feel my preparation is going to lead me to a victory and quicker,” Margarito said through an interpreter. “My plan is- everybody knows what kind of style I have. I go in, I put a lot of pressure on my opponent. I’m going to jump on him right from the beginning to hopefully take him out quicker.”

He believes the extra weight- the fight is contracted at 153 pounds for Cotto’s WBA super welterweight title- is to his advantage. The two fought at welterweight the first time around and Margarito was able to stalk Cotto and push him around the ring.

“I just think it’s a weight issue,” he said. “Now I’m going to be fighting him at 153 pounds, super welterweight. I think that’s an advantage for me, my height, my body size. We fight at 147 pounds and look what I did to him, but now at 153 pounds, super welterweight, I think I can do more damage.”

Margarito believes the hand-wrap controversy is behind him and shouldn’t be a sub-plot to their rematch.

“The people have a right to their opinion,” Margarito said. “But I know that I’m a clean fighter.”

The controversy and the implication that he might have loaded his gloves when he first faced Cotto had nothing to do with his desire to face Cotto again, he said.

“Not at all,” he said. “This is a great fight for the fans and this is an opportunity for myself to become a world champion again.”

In facing Cotto, he doesn’t feel he’s fighting for his reputation of being a clean fighter.

“I can’t put that kind of pressure on myself,” he said. “I have to get ready for a difficult fight. If I carry that into the ring, into the training camp, it’s just going to affect me. My goal is to get ready to fight a good fight against Cotto.”

Margarito's face wasn't loaded the first time.. and it was the fact that Cotto couldn't stop him with ANYTHING that really lost him the fight... well that and running outta gas. I predict the same thing this fight, unless Cotto actually manages to stop Margarito early or induce some type of cut or swelling that would cause TKO.

    Margarito will stop him earlier.
Its very hard to overcome a beating like the one Cotto took. It might have been easier if he had been KOd cold but instead he was forced to quit.
When somebody quits on their own its very hard to overcome that. I love Cotto because of his skills and spirit but this is the worst possible match up for him. He needs to stun Margarito early and not run out of gas which means he will have to clinch alot.

Margarito will grind him down even quicker. He will take him to a dark place and i believe Cotto will fold. I am putting some good money on this as the odds are wicked for Margarito.

You may have a point there, but thats not the reason why i thik Margo stops him again. Margoi's style is just all wrong for Cotto, and if Cotto cant hurt Margo early, he's gonna start to panic and have flashbacks of their first fight and Margo is gonna be all over him tagging him non stop.

Damn i just remembered in the Pac fight Margarito weighed in at 150 and on fight night he was 165.
For this fight where he weighs in at 153 he will more than likely be close to or above 170.

    This fight will be brutal.

This....... even the great Manny Pacquiao got hit 229 times vs Margarito, if you don't fight Margarito ala Mosley it's impossible to keep him off of you, with Cotto already having his soul stolen by Marg, Im not sure he would be content with standing in the middle of the ring and fighting him back, he will get overwhelmed once again since he doesn't have the speed, power, boxing skill, or chin that Pac had, horrible match for Cotto. I dont understand why people seem to think Margarito is shot cause he lost to the best boxer in the world at that time
