Paul Williams is a world class operator, who would give any fighter at 147lb a tough fight. I've said it one and I'll say it again, there is no disgrace in losing a fight, and especially not at the highest level. It speaks volumes of Margarito's character, that he was able to bounce back from that defeat and go on to stop the man who was recnogised as the best at 147...Miguel Cotto. Don't you agree?

He may have lost as a boy, but he has lost twice as man now. How was Cotto groomed to be a World Champ? He has beaten a good amount great fighters and hasn't been carried throughout his career. Mayweather is already regarded as the greates fighter at the 130 pound limit. You can't take that away from him, whatever he did at welter is irrelevant to what he did at 130 and 135.

Miguel Cotto once he started as a professional was recognised a future star in the sport. Before his first professional loss, he was being hyped as the best P4P star in the sport, whereas Margarito was never talked as such. That was the point I was making, and I made it because it's even more special that he has gone on to be successful, considering he was never recnogised by HBO as being potentially the best Welterweight in the world. He was never supposed to be in that class, but he defied odds. A great fighter.

What are you talking about? Why are you going on the defensive when I speak about Floyd Mayweather? I just said the Cotto victory was better than any of Floyd's at 147, and that speaks volumes for just how good of a win it was, and why Margarito is deserving of his place amongst the best 147lb fighters currently active.

I would favour Mayweather with his defensive ability and Margarito's inability to adapt.

Flip ****? You brought Mayweather into a thread that has nothing to do with him. PM him if you want to **** him off. Don't bring **** into a thread that has nothing to do with it.

You can't talk about us fans being obsessed with Floyd then turn around bring him into threads that have nothing to do with him.

    You're correct.

Floyd Mayweather was fantastic at 130 and 135, but I believe Margarito to be more proven at 147 than Floyd. Considering Floyd was hailed as the best 147lb fighter in the world with a lesser resume, it speaks volumes for what Margarito has achieved, and how he is more than deserving of the praise he is recieving lately.
