You do have some valid points there, I'll agree. However, the loaded gloves and EPO do have similarities.

If, as you say, it's the accumulation of punches with loaded gloves that make the difference, then of course, that's flat out cheating. No issue.

I'd say though, if one fighter has greatly increased stamina due to EPO, that's going to do the same. He's going to be able to throw more punches, and when the clean fighter is fatigued, and would expect the other fighter to be in a similar condition, that's not going to happen.

So you've got a tired fighter, fighting a fresh(er) fighter. The fresher fighter can throw more punchers, and more power punches, than if clean. Which also leads to an accumulation of punches effect also.

Cheating is cheating IMO. Loaded gloves, steroids, etc. I can't see why one is OK, and one isn't.

Both should have bans. A year or two for first time offenders, then a life ban second time around. No arguments.

Margartio, Toney, Holyfield and Briggs are all out to lunch. They seem to think they can talk their way into some big fight despite the fact that nobody wants to see them.

Agreed, cheating is cheating whether it is EPO or loaded gloves and should carry the same penalty - IMO a lifetime ban from boxing - a year may be sufficient in other sports but in boxing where cheating can have such a profound effect on your opponent's long term health, the punishment must be more severe. Besides, Shane Mosley has just been inactive for more than a year. PBF took around two years of for retirement after fighting Hatton, Bika has been inactive for god knows how long - a year ban doesn't provide a big enough deterrent in a sport where a fighter can easily go 12 months without fighting with no great effect on his career.

However, I still believe that loading gloves is the more morally reprehensible of the two as the fighter is basically coming into the fight with concealed weapons under his glove with the sole intention of multiplying his capability to hurt his opponent. EPO can/will make you stronger, faster etc by giving you the ability to train harder but it does not always have a big effect. At the end of the day though, cheating is cheating and IMO, Mosley and Margarito should have been banned for life but Margarito should have faced criminal charges too.
