This is Margarito's big moment and he's taking advantage of it ... I think that he's on the verge of achieving his dream and getting what he's wanted for so long.

IF he wins .... he's reaches a status of the elite and maybe depending on what fashion he wins in (if he does) he gets more fans with a victory like this.

There's a thin line between being confident and trash talking, I don't believe Margarito has crossed it yet!

I'm glad he's planning on throwing alot of punches because he throws wide slow punches and will be WIDE open for body shots. Cottos body shots hurt when you see them coming but wait till Tony leaves himself wide opena nd gets nailed in the ribs. I believe he'll be stopped by a body punch since he has an iron jaw.

Well I think he is a little too confident considering Cotto is going to be the toughest fighter he has faced in terms of skill. Don't get me wrong, confidence is good, but it can also lead Margarito to overlook Cotto. The latter proving to be disasterous in the ring. I hope he is just trying to hype the fight!

That is a very good possiblity since Cotto seems to counter very well. However, once Margarito tastes his opponents power and decides that he can take them without getting in trouble, he will open up with his own offense. It will be interesting to see if Cotto can negate Margarito's offense with his own. I think this is what makes this fight so damn appealing.

I suggest that you watch some of Margarito's fights closely. He does a terrific job of protecting his body. And against smaller opponents he makes good use of the uppercut. Kinda hard working your way into your opponent's body when he's ripping you with uppercuts.

You can go on believing that he'll be wide and easy to hit. It'll just mean you'll be in for a surprise come fight time.:yep

Absolutely. My main concern in this fight is if margo finds a way to consistantly land those wicked and accurate uppercuts of his. Cotto is prone to coppin a few uppercuts, so just hope that he works on lateral head movement and not leaning over when they are in close.

I feel that cotto will come away with this one in a very hard fought battle. His punishment downstairs is first class and I just dont think Margorito will be able to deal with it for 12 rounds. However if margo can find his distance and start landing some clean 1-2's with that uppercut not far behind, he has a great shot.

Looking forward to this fight more than my missus lasagne. Much thanks to both men for steppin up.:happy

Yep. The key here for Cotto is to not lean in when he goes on the offensive. He has to make sure there is no space to get that uppercut in. If he leans in at all he's risking a lot. Of course he's still going to need very good lateral movement to avoid the uppercuts on his way in.

For Margarito to win he has to measure Cotto from the outside with the jab and throw the uppercut behind it. And when inside he has to rip the uppercut downstairs to Cotto's body. I feel that an upstairs offensive will fail badly against Cotto as he is short enough to slip underneath the right hand and left hook. So it's going to come down to body shots and uppercuts for Margarito. Just like the Lujan fight.

Indeed. This is going to be a wonderful night.

I too can't wait for this fight either.. I believe Margo when he says he'll being coming forward at all times, putting the pressure on Cotto, but knocking him out, I don't believe.. Cotto is too good of a boxer and will work on Margo with his accurate punches going backwards.. Margo won't back down, but I see Cotto winning this one.. It'll be a good fight for both and a learning experience for Cotto IMO..

Cotto should use his superior skills early on and then, but only if MArg. is getting effected by Cotto's attacks, Cotto should apply serious pressure and either win by a large margin or TKO. "Should" and will are two different stories though. If Cotto fights a war of attrition from the outset, I think he'll lose. In the end though I think Cotto is smart enough, has enough respect for Margs. strengths, and showed his boxing side late in the Mosely fight, that he will use his advantages from the outset

Seems to me like the normal quote that a fighter would say before a fight.

This fight will be very entertainning.
