im glad hes back. the guy is exciting and would be a great test of heart for anyone in the welter division. i wouldnt mind seeing him against shane or williams again. its funny that the most corrupt sport in the world atracts so many "holier than thou" fans.
this is crazy. Margarito's violation is terrible. I mean i don't know how obvious it could be for an individual to place hard plastic in their glove and hit another human being in the ring with it. This is a guy that has lost all credibility in boxing and he should really be banned. He has used these plaster paris on other fighters and has already damaged alot of fighters out there for the rest of their lives. He's an embarrasement to boxing and when he comes back he will probably get knocked out.
I'll concede that Cotto had the wrong fight plan against Margarito however even with a deficient strategy he may have still pulled out a victory if he wasn't subjected to such a brutal beating. That said, I'd favor Cotto in a rematch in which Margo's wraps would surely be thoroughly frisked and x-rayed by team Cotto prior to the fight.
the plaster thing did make me lose much respect for margo as he was one of my fav fighters before the mosley fight but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited for his comeback.. And it seems like arum has big plans for him which also seems great
:good Times this guy has mentioned Pacs name here on ESB in any thread even if it doesn't involve him = 2,857,556.....LOL :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Most nuthuggin award goes to you my friend. :good
I know what your trying to say here Bennie, and i agree with you saying he had the wrong game plan, but a lot of people here just bring up this excuse that he cheat palster ect.. but the thing is that they dont realize that Mosley would have beaten Margo even with PALSTERS on man am telling you he fought a great fight that night and he wasn't going anywhere, unlike Cotto who fought the wrong fight like you said. What am trying to say is that Margarito would had beaten Cotto with or without PLASTER, and Mosley would had beaten the **** out of him with or without.:good
That's where we disagree. Margarito won because he wore Cotto down with countless damaging blows. Although not having the illicit wraps wouldn't have changed the volume of punches that Margarito was able to throw and land, the absence of plaster would have undoubtedly reduced the amount of damage that he was able to inflect on Cotto and thus Cotto perhaps would have been able to endure the punches for the additional round and a half and won on a decision. Furthermore, I don't think Cotto would fight the exact same fight if they were to rematch. He will have the benefit of learning from their first match and the advantage of having seen Mosley dispatch of Margo; conversely, Margarito only knows how to fight one way and I wouldn't expect him to stylistically do anything different.
Regardless of what happens with Pacquiao I want Cotto-Margarito II. Mosley probablly ended Margarito's career as a contender with that beatdown and id like to see Cotto finish him off in truely violent fashion. Im talking Margarito holding onto a broken rib while he is outcold and foaming out his mouth.
You do have a point there, but the thing is that Cotto already said that he's too much of a man to clinch!
Margarito will continue to fight guys half his size, as he did all his career, and struggle/lose against them. If Cotto loses then a rematch with Cotto sounds reasonable but if Pac wins a fight with Pac is NOT what someone who stuffs concrete up his ass to compete with guys half his size deserves. Pac is better off fighting Mosley or Mayweather for serious money, Margarito is a disgrace to headline any card.
After Shane Mosely trashed him he's not going to be the same fighter he once was. He took a serious beating and I think his mentality its not going to be where it once was before.Only time can tell how he performs when he steps in the ring again but i suspect him to fight some top fighters next year. I agree A Cotto vs Margarito 2 would be awesome !!!
