I agree. Paez is definitely good enough to beat this version of Margarito. If Paez targets that eye, I could see a TKO in favor of Paez happening.

Why do you post blatant lies about fighters you know nothing about
The whole loaded gloves Bull Feces was started by a blatant lie
from Nazim Richardson. He claimed PLASTER BLOCKS fell out of Margarito's wraps. What ever happened to those " PLASTER BLOCKS" ?? All the CSAC sent for testing was a soft damp used gauze pad. That pad was eventually declared HARMLESS by the lab who tested it. The only offense committed was Capetillo accidently placed a used pad in the wrap & not a new one. merely a technical offense NOT attempted glove loading.
When asked to produce the offending pad the CSAC rep stuttered & stammered " Err Err We do not have it any more it got MISLAID!!!"" Yeah sure Why wasn't Richardson taken to task for lying?? Why wasn't the CSAC insp who watched the wrapping & then signed off & passed it taken to task??
A good fighters good name & reputation was tarnished by a LIE!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what everyone is on about. Margarito came back after 4+ years to fight and decisively defeat a game competitor that is 8 years his junior. Jorge Paez Jr. is no slouch. Prior to the fight, there was tons of concern and criticism in regards to Margarito's choice of opponent, not in terms of the a question of Paez's quality, but whether it was a wise decision due to Maromerito's boxing acumen.

I think it was a really good, entertaining, and enjoyable fight. Margarito is absolutely showing his age, as he's 38, but he was grinding Paez Junior the hell out. He still can put on a great show, works 100% of the time, comes in shape, and shows a tremendous amount of heart.

I was impressed, frankly. I think there is lots to work on, and I think that there was tons of ring rust he was shaking off there, but he went right back to work. Very few fighters grind people down like Margarito, he's one of the few boxers who can make you feel pressure as a bystander. Antonio makes the room seem smaller, he is simply relentless.

There was some really great rounds in there, 4 and 5 particularly were fun to watch. I think in round 2 Paez fainted a lead right, shifted to southpaw and drove a trailing straight body blow, which was a sneaky setup, and Antonio caught the feint, blocked the body blow, and countered with a right uppercut, left hook combo. He turned Paez right after and assaulted with a right hand lead straight to jab combo. He was impressive in spots, and that was really entertaining.

There was the occasional burst of volume that Margarito is known for, and in some instances, I saw moments that reminded me of his prime. There was lot of 5-8 punch sequences, and a few absurd 10+ punch sequences that had me reeling. Margarito is a goddamn punching-perpetual motion machine.

Anyway, fun fight. I hope he sticks around at whatever level, but I want him to keep his senses about him. He's an entertaining fighter.

LOL...Paez had him on Quier St !!!

Interesting how often the commentators kept mentioning Margarito didn't appear to have much of a punch !!!

    Ouch...!
