    Let's be honest.

The legacy of Margarito is based off 2 lies

    1. Beating an undefeated Miguel Cotto with cast gloves
    2. Floyd Mayweather "ducking" Margarito

The reality is this guy was a dry 154'er who used casts to beat his most difficult opponents. Everyoen talks about prime margarito like he's roberto duran or something. This dude was just a slow plodder that is Luis Resto reincarnated....

If you erase his fraudulent win over cotto and delete the irrelevant footage of floyd suppoedly ducking him this guy is a nobody. He is a nobody with that but in the minds of the fools who believe in him, he would be a complete and total nobody.

let's also keep in mind cotto was doing his best pernell whitaker impression against margarito until the casts set in. Margarito wasn't the unstoppable force many think he is

I think so he's very overrated the guy never beat a fighter of note after being exposed for loading his gloves. On top of that he was limited he was a big guy at 147 who used his chin stamina and size to wear down smaller guys. If you could stand up to his attack he could be easily outboxed.

That's a big "if", most fighters couldn't. Cotto, Cintron, Martinez, Clottey, and quite a few others.
Mayweather and Delahoya certainly didn't want to try their hand at it. :yep

He arguably loaded his gloves his whole career. Pbf agreed to fight margo along with cotto and Hatton but arum didn't want to pay him. You've seen that espn article posted a bunch of times so I have no idea why you're saying that.

They have selective memories and can't read anything not written on ESB/BN24 or by Thomas Hauser.

Agreed - I said the exact same thing last night.

A b-level fighter who did nothing spectacularly. If he was boxing now, he'd be viewed only slightly more favourably than similar plodders like Alfredo Angulo. Tough, durable - a solid fighter. That's about it. There's no shame in being that level, it's still a lofty achievement, but the BS you see on here about him is laughable.

He has 5 defeats in his only 6 fights against fighters who were b-level or above.

I'm tempted to post it again just so they can see it for the 20th time.

Margarito isn't seriously rated by any serious boxing fan ....maybe a couple here and there that have a screw loose or get *****s for guys with his chin

But the reality y is he's only propped up by a certain group who is looking to **** of cotto and floyd fans....that's the bottom line really

I agree, Margarito doesn't belong in the mention with the great welters of all time, that however doesn't erase the fact he beat the **** out of Cotto and Mayweather avoided him.

Fighters other than ATG's are also avoided.

8 million plus ppv upside was offered Mayweather to fight Margarito and he chose to fight Baldomir for less money despite the lies posted that Mayweather made 8 million for the Baldomir fight.
Mayweather always say's he made over 8 million for the Baldomir fight as its the only way of hiding the fact he ducked Margarito.
