Antonio Margarito slowly becoming one of the most over rated fighters of all time.

While i dont see there being any conclusive proof he successfully cheated in any fight I will say I dont think he was great

I think he was a very good title holder for a while and then I think caught fire for a very short moment in unifying titles vs Cintron who has kind of fallen off and Cotto who recovered to do more with his career

Plenty of other fighters have had great wins like Margaritos over Cotto only to be shut down and disappear quickly

Vernon Forrest beat Mosely twice and then that was kind of it

Mayorga had two big wins over Forrest then lost to Spinks and then that was kind of it for him

Some guys can reach the top or near the top of the mountain but very few can stay there

 

Except that chin is one of the most important things in boxing

 

Iron chin warriors like Margarito are never overrated

 

It was all downhill for the Loser once he got popped with loaded wraps!

 

Baldomir was the lineal title holder.

And, as an aside, if Mayweather hadn't fought Baldomir threads like this would be suggesting Mayweather ducked him and fought Judah instead. (which they did at the time, hence why Mayweather ended up fighting him)

Margarito is just some fighter who is best remembered as the guy that got caught loading his gloves. He beat absolutely no one after that.

Margarito was once regarded by boxing magazine and boxing fans as the biggest threat or the most feared man at 147, but when Winky Wright called out Margarito at that time the latter refused to fight the former. That was totally BS!

There's nothing about this cheater that I like. He's just a grade C fighter IMO.
