Harrison a few things. Who has better stamina? Margarito or Pacquiao? Also you make it sound like Pacquiao has faced a fighter like Margarito before. Has never seen a guy as big as Margarito who will be fighting every minute of every round. Pacquiao cant hurt Margarito at all which will make Margarito's job way easier in cutting the ring off properly. Also that wasnt a low blow that dropped Pacquiao when he got ko'd back in the day. It was a overhand shot that dropped Pacquiao. It looked like a low blow from the crappy footage. It was weird ass shot that looked low also. Also have to disagree with you about Margarito's only shot is in the early rounds. He gets stronger as the fight goes on so I dont see how that's possible. Manny will have early success but Margarito will most likely take him out in the later rounds.
I would not want to see margarito fight pac, just does not sell for me. Let margarito fight the big boys. If margarito fought pac and won....so what, noone would be shocked. BORING FIGHT.
some people never learn... margarito has no head movement and his hand speed is awful not to mention his predictable punching pattern manny wins an easy UD...
This thread is actually useless since this will not happen. There are more lucrative fights for Pacman in the lower weights. He doesn't need a very high risk Margarito to earn more. Besides, they are not from the same weight class. The recent fight of Pacquiao at 147lbs is just a side show. So everybody cool down here. You are arguing at nothing.
Prime vs shot, a man who will take a shot vs a man who lost his heart and didnt want to be there. Pac vs Paul Williams would also be a bludgeoning.
Before last night I would have said that it was an impossiblity and stupid to suggest but now it doesn't seem so ridiculous. Pacman can throw consistently for 12 rounds which many of Margaritos opponents can't do. He has the speed to constantly beat Margarito to the punch and as long as he doesn't get pinned to the ropes like Cotto did he has a decent chance. On the other side you have to throw 4-5 punch combos to slow Margarito down otherwise he still throws punches. He won't come into the ring less than 150lbs unlike De la hoya and he knows how to use his size to cut off the ring.
hmm... ppl here also said that pac doesn't hit hard enough to hurt dlh but pac actually did many times during the fight and with both hands. and hoya is supposed to have a very solid chin too. what last night's fight taught us is not to ever underestimate pac. pac finds ways to win even when the odds are overwhelmingly stacked against him. pac fights much better when he is the clear underdog. he thrives on pressure and always rises to the occassion.
Guys gotta calm down. All the credit in the world to Pac, but De La Hoya was a shot fighter who couldn't pull the trigger; Margarito is fighter in his prime who throws 1,000 punchers in a fight.
no. margo is a warrior and will never quit on his stool. but pac can possibly outspeed, outwit and outpoint him to a decision. beat him to the punch, use head, upper body and side to side movement to confuse and frustrate him forcing him to make mistakes that pac can capitalize on. pac will always have a chance with his great fighting ability and with roach in his corner devising the perfect fight plan. but i don't think this fight will ever happen. arum already made the mistake of pitting cotto and margo together in a fight. and as a result, he lost one of his cash cows because of this. pac is currently the acknowledged golden goose of top rank. the only other boxer that pac will fight at 147 will be pbf. at 140, he fights hatton and maybe jmm again. those are the last 3 fights of pac and then he finally rides out into the sunset.
