Vargas was too skilled of a boxer and punched with too much power for Margarito ( who wouldn't have a size advantage). Technically it would be a mismatch, and Vargas would no slouch inside.

  4. I always thought Vargas was best at 147.

I don't think he ever fought at welterweight in the pros.

Vargas would dominate the first 5 or 6 rounds but eventually Margarito starts doing damage as Vargas gets Ballsy and starts brawling with Margo, it would be a foty type. Margo comes on late and does more damage in the later rounds but too late!!

    Vargas by close decision.

Vargas never had one significant fight at welter in his pro career.

    Definitely Vargas, probably by stoppage.

Vargas was a much better boxer than Margarito has ever been, not to mention he's bigger and stronger.

I really can't think of a justifiable reason for picking Tony.

Vargas would tear Margarito apart. It would be ugly.

What is the latest with Vargas?

Was he not making a comeback to fight Camcaho Jnr?
