People don't have a sense of reality. Just because Margarito rehydrates past SMW doesn't mean he is close to Froch's size. Froch rehydrates as well. He is taller, has large bone structure, and has more muscle. To ask Froch to cut more weight than he already does won't work. Water is still important to keep your brain functioning, your body from over-heating, and your immune system functioning. It is the most basic element. You could last a month without eating, but you can't even last a week without drinking water.

Carl would cut muscle making 154 and 160. He is a big man compared to Antonio's.

Both have 32 inch waists but Carl's shoulders are much bigger than Antonio's as is his chest etc...

Anyone have any fight night weights of Carl and Margarito?

    Froch doesn't rehydrate.

    Froch's walk around weight is 170ish. Margarito's is 180ish.
When in training, Froch is 170ish. Margarito is 170ish.
When they weigh in, Froch is 167. Margarito is 147.
On fight night, Froch is 168ish and Margarito is 170ish.

The only difference between these two is that Froch doesn't dehydrate whereas Margarito does. Froch does it like Pacquiao and Hopkins, whereas Margarito does it like Chavez or Broner.

McCracken and Froch have both said that Froch coukd make 160 with no problems. He'd just dehydrate.

I don't know if Carl's fight night weight has been put on US broadcasts, however Lucian Bute did rehydrate to 182 against Edison Miranda and Carl doesn't exactly look small against Bute here:

Andre Ward weighed 176 in the ring against Dawson, and once again, it doesn't look like Froch is small

Jack seemed to claim earlier that Froch weighs 167 in the ring on fight night, I don't see how that can be, Pavlik looked like a giant at 178 against Martinez who came in at 167. I'd guess Froch is 175+ in the ring in both fights.

I think Margarito was about 166 against Pacquiao and 165 against Cotto. Could be wrong.

If Margarito is walking around at 180-185 then he's walking around pretty far out of shape.

So a guy who got ****ed up and broken by an old welterweight and a former flyweight would last against a guy whose knocked out guys MUCH bigger than him . . . . . .

Froch was at 168lbs about 4 weeks before the Ward fight and weighed in at 167lbs. That is the weight he trains at, weighs in at and fights at.

Based on what I've seen I dissagree with you.

Froch was above 180 on fight night with Ward I believe.

I don't think he was 180 lbs probably more like 175 lbs I reckon, Froch says he only puts a few pounds on after the weigh in and fights close to his walk around weight.

I know Froch's weight doesn't fluctuate much out of the ring, to weigh-in, to fight night, but there is no way he is fighting in the ring at 167lbs, IMO. I'm sure sure Jack is talking ****.
