    I pick Margarito.

Nothing new here. I think he's too strong and too determined to lose to Cotto. This would be a match of willpower that Cotto would lose.

He's also sloppy with no defence, feather fisted Clottey stunned him several times.

    Cotto in 5.

Margo's lack of skills would not help to pay any bills.

    Cotto TKO/ wide UD

Cotto would beat the brakes off of him. Cotto throws fast combinations....with power.....Margarito throws wide shots with power. The straight punches would beat the wide punches. Let alone him cracking Margarito to the body with a left hook counter while margarito is swinging.

It won't be a war, it will be a one sided destruction. Margarito has 0 defence and his work is extremely sloppy, him being off balance is normal.

Cotto can fight backing up and box if necessary as well. As shown in the Shane fight. Margarito has nothing coming but a ****ing beat down.

I think Margarito has cotto's number. Just analzye their style and youll realize that cotto is tailor made for MArgarito actually.

I like them both, but i think cotto might pull it off.. Wouldnt be surpised if Margo walks throught him and knocks him out though

The only fighter that resembled cotto that Margarito fought was Lujan the guy with the ear falling off. He was winning rounds in that fight and had Margarito backing up. Sebastian whatever does not hit as hard as Cotto and was crude. Cotto is a million times better. Cotto knocked out better opposition then that mutt.

I dont like Calzaghe fans but me and you been calling knockout for the mayweather fight and took 1 month off bets on it. Only 1 other poster did that. I respect your opinion on anything outside Calzaghe and Kessler as I know your agenda:blood

When Clottey landed they were upstairs punches where Clottey used his foot and handspeed to land. Cotto does not fight this way nor does he have that sort of unison foot/hand movement.

Cotto is a guy who likes to trap his opponents, catching them with right hands upstairs and hooks downstairs when they try and retreat or back around a corner. He excels against boxers, and I have no argument with that.

Where he doesn't excel is against a guy who is there in his face trying to knock him out. Look at the fight with Abdulaev for example. Abdulaev by the time he and Cotto met as pros was just that much smaller. Sure he beat Cotto in the AMs but he was a man at that time. Anyways, he was a pretty ordinary sized jr.welterweight.

Anyone who has seen this fight saw how Abdulaev muscled Cotto early on. And look at the Torres fight. If Torres had the chin to stand up to Cotto's punches, Cotto would have been knocked out.

I've watched many Cotto fights and I've always had the impression that he didn't handle pressure well. When pressed, he looked ready to fall apart but just seemed to pull it out by the skin of his teeth. I just don't see him doing that against someone like Margarito or Williams. These guys are just bigger, more durable and meaner.
