Using a time machine, take the version of Tony that stopped Cotto and place him in the shoes of Lloyd Honeyghan.

Could Margo shock the world and knock out the p4p king on that night?

The version of Curry that lost to Honeyghan? Well of course Margarito would be too much for him.....but the version of the Lone Star Cobra from the McCrory fight, or even the version that beat Colin Jones would cut up and outclass the Mexican.

Some men become legends on the basis of one fight. Hatton v Tszyu, Honeyghan v Curry, etc.

Makes you wonder whether the man was in the right place at the right time, or whether he was in possession of the right skillset or whether he was just too good.

For example, you surely wouldn't expect Zab Judah to beat that version of Curry right? It takes someone who is a dedicated pressure fighter, someone with enough pop to grind down an opponent, someone with enough presence to physically overwhelm the more skilled yet less fit opponent.

You say of course as if it is a given that Margo wins but how many quality victories does he have? Imo Cintron and Cotto. He did beat Clottey but that was very circumstantial imo.

I do think it's probably Margo stops him late but I don't quite think it's a given.

What other lesser talents do you feel would dethrone the king that night?

The exact same Margo from the Cotto fight.

Curry, UD. Won't take nearly as much punishment as Cotto because he'll use his reach and his guard more effectively.

But would he wear him down the way Honeyghan did with relentless pressure?

I dont really see it. Honeyghan was way more explosive and dynamic than Margarito; a real physical force at his peak. Margarito was a tough guy who grinder people out.

If Curry was struggling at the weight those championship round might prove very problematic against Margo.

I think Honeyghan was at the right place at the right time. I don't think Tzyu was ever in Curry's league. I think Hatton may have beaten him anyway, just with his skill set.

As for the topic, could prime Margarito beat the Curry who lost ot Honeyghan. I think so. Curry looked very drained that night. I think Margarito would wear him down for a late tko.

Hatton has a massive style advantage over Zoo. The only way I see Kostya winning is with a KO. We know Zoo would fade late even in his prime so unless someone thinks Zoo was unable to pull the trigger against Hatton I see no reason to favour Zoo prime for prime.
