Actually it was more of a retort to your equally facile statement: I'm interested to know whether you see the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight in equally facile terms. Ie. would you agree that Calzaghe will overwhelm Hopkins solely on the basis that he can throw 1000 punches in a fight and Hopkins has never fought at such a pace? If you don't agree with that statement (and I'd suspect not but who knows) then maybe thinking about the reasons why it is not necesarily true will help you with why your statement about Margarito-Witter isnt necesarily true either. Hope that helps.
Dude, that is in essense the problem with uneducated U.S. fight fans. They know what they have been taught to like. If a fighter has little mainstream respect or profile, they must be shitty. One rule for one, one rule for another. By the way, Knowledgeable American fight fans do know the difference.
^ **** that witter would get KOed early. Margo is going to give Cotto the fight of his life. Witter would get destroyed. Just cause a guy isn't all flash and dash doesn't make him predictable. And just cause a guy throws wide shots doesn't mean you can get out da way.
I happen to think Witter would give Margo fights early on with his speed and movement but after awhile the size difference will become to great and Margo will start to find Witter and wear him down. Margo by late round TKO or close UD.
I do see the Calzaghe - Hopkins fight in similar terms, but I can see how Hopkins could shut down Joe. Witter is just not as clever as Hopkins and doesn't have as many tricks. And whereas somebody like Hopkins has shown he can fight for 12 rounds and throw in excess of 600/700 punches, I don't think Witter has. Margarito is taller, longer reach, bigger, stronger, has the better chin, throws more punches, always fights at a frenetic pace. Witter takes a long time to pull the trigger, Margarito will have tramped him by the time he throws.
