This is not a top opponent and proves nothing except if he loses. BTW Margarito** does not deserve to make another peso in that ring. DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dergh. im not saying jones would of won a round but i feel it is unfair. margo of course isnt going to fight someone of real contender value which is why jones and garcia are mentioned. carson jones was signed up for him. and unlike garcia, jones has come the hard way. never considered a prospect.just confident /cocky.would of nice to see some mainstream exposure to a young kid. and if he losses it's just his leaning curb. jones has improved alot since he was 20. also a he is not flatfooted or predictable as garcia. thats my reasons
Why are people crapping on Garcia for not being a household name? He's a ten year veteran who's been diligently working his way toward an opportunity like this. Just because he doesn't ring a bell doesn't make him a tomato can. Hunt down some footage before writing off anyone you haven't seen on HBO.
I wasn't trying to descredit or write him off. I've never seen the guy fight, so I asked a legit question. I hope he knocks Margarito's teeth out.
Jones' opposition has been a little better than Garcia's but most of the better class he's been in with he's lost to. Common opponent: The Rail - who Garcia was beating up for three rounds before it was called a No Contest, and whom Jones lost a split decision to (and without a point deduction on Hernandez it wouldn't have even been "split"). Even if he's improved in the couple of years since then, it's only been a little over a year since Jesus Soto Karass kicked his butt. And only a couple of months since he drew with a damn Trailer Park Series boxer! atsch Garcia is a live underdog here, and a more acceptable opponent with a better chance to win. Margarito's aura of invincibility is no more. This is a big, strong, long-armed LMW/MW with a good chin of his own and possessing of an uppercut better than any single shot in Margarito's arsenal.
Wasn't singling out, it's been a pattern in almost every thread about this fight. :yep I mean, it's no secret that I don't much care for Margarito, but trashing his every opponent (even blue-collar warriors with a decent chance at springing the upset) in order to discredit him isn't my speed. Just par for the course for most hater contingents on ESB, sadly. :verysad
