There is a reason Margarito did not compete at 154, 160 and squeezed his body 165 frame into 147. Its because Margarito was nothing special at those weights.

He did not have the speed to compete at 154 or 160. He sure as hell didn't have the punching power. And his strength advantage he had at 147 was non existent at ether of those weights.

To put it simply, against someone his own size Margarito was nothing. Shane on the other hand is a extremely strong fighter. With that being said, Shane could easily body Margarito off of him, back Margarito up , and beat him up on the inside with is speed.
Two of the main ingredient Margarito needed in that fight was his strength and the ability to move forward, and with out his knuckle pads leading the way, this was a wash.
