Antonio Margarito would of been a stylistically nightmare for Floyd Mayweather

This is what he wrote to you and you ran away

You do agree that styles make fights. I know you do because I know you have some semblance of boxing knowledge.

Mosley and Pacquiao dominated Margarito. The only two fighters to have done that to a healthy Margarito.

Both those fighters though threw a lot of punches and kept themselves very busy during the course of the fight.
Mayweather doesn't bring that. He shells up and rolls with the punches coming at him.
A prime Margarito who throws 100 punches a round and doesn't much care if he's taking punches. He'd be a stylistic nightmare for a fighter like Mayweather who shells up and looks to potshot here and there.

That shoulder roll by Mayweather wouldn't work with Margarito because Margarito is not one to take aim at the face of a fighter.
Margarito aims for anything above the waist. Missection, arms, elbows, shoulders, etc.

Margarito just works and works and works and unlike most Mayweather opponents except Castillo who arguably beat Mayweather, Margarito goes to the damn body and goes there hard and relentlessly.
A past it Margarito hurt Manny Pacquiao bad to the body. Bad enough Pacquiao required medical attention and checked himself into a hospital.

Pacquiao is a tougher fight for Margarito because Pacquiao is southpaw who darts in and out and like Margarito can go all day throwing punches.
Mayweather isn't that type of fighters.

Imo Mayweather is great against the typical aim at the head fighter who is weary of getting hit back on the counter.
That isn't Margarito and I've said for as long as I've been a member of this forum that would spell big problems for a fighter of Mayweather's style.

Imo a prime Antonio Margarito outhustles and beats Mayweather in a close fight. Mayweather is to cautious and defensive to get knocked out, so I think Margarito just outworks him in a sloppy type of a fight where Mayweather just is more inactive than usual, which is saying a lot as we all know activity isn't Mayweather's forte.

You lying POS this was my response http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=560875&page=9

What people like you fail to realize is that he's not gong to be throwing 100 punches a round because PBF isn't going to be in range enough for him to do so. When was the last time you've seen someone throw that many punches against PBF? He usually holds guys to a career low output and connect % for a reason. Margo is too slow he would get beat to the punch and countered over and over losing rounds in the process. Sure he would take punishment but so what that leads to his eye either getting swollen or cuts.

PBF can move, his foot speed footwork and reflexes are light years ahead of Margo's. He will fight off his back foot and Margo is too slow of foot to cut the ring off against him. Why can't people like you see this and act like it's not a factor? PBF will dictate range and tempo of this fight he will be the ring general the fight will be fought in the middle of the ring for the most part. Another factor is that Margo is a slow starter it takes him 5 or 6 rounds to even get in a fight do you actually think Margo would beat PBF after PBF was up 5 or 6 rounds to 0? Remember PBF doesn't fade and usually is even better and harder to hit as the fight goes on. Margo is a plodder and quite frankly not that good find me an educated pressure fighter and we can talk not a limited uneducated pressure fighter with no jab and plodding feet like Margo.

PBF is a stylistic nightmare for Margo and honestly I don't think he loses a round to him. Your argument makes no sense 100 punches a around against a guy who has some of the best defense in history who's known to hold guys to career low output and connect % it would be funny to watch PBF hit him with flush right hands and counters while Margo swung at air more most of the night with that stupid grin on his face, easy work.

The ATG list happened to have long wingspan Welterweights & shows that Margarito & Floyd had a reach" advantage over all of Floyd Mayweather 10 opponents

I left out PW on purpose, cause I didn't want mental midgets bad talking him while we are at it, but his massive 79" made easy work of prime 73" Margarito & Floyd would have been too tiny to compete with Paulie Williams 2007 (Floyd was retired)

All this doesn't mean anything to Floyd Mayweather legacy that relies heavily on his GOAT status @130 where he fought 55% of his fights...At Welter it was Business & Floyd did an excellent job

    :good

    Some great points here.

    Styles make fights.

There's never been truer words spoken regarding boxing.

We saw the Maidana fights. Maidana can be very crude. But he just pours forward, roughing his opponents up, and hitting absolutely any part of the body he can.

In my opinion, there's no way Floyd would have held a 'Gatti' type win over him.

Marg was taller than him, heavier than him, stronger than him, he hit harder than him, and he had equal reach, if not slightly more.

It would have been a hard nights work for Floyd.

How could Marg have been incapable of winning even a round?

Are you telling us that Floyd was completely shot in the Maidana fight?

Floyd Mayweather was 130 who would held his own better than Undefeated Cotto or Undefeated Martinez, but it was an unnecessary fight from a business POV, which was the theme of Mayweather career after 130
