The only thing a Marg fight would do for Floyd's career is give you nay sayers more a reason to say oh he's boring fighter oh he gets on his bike oh he pot shots too much he has no offense....rinse and repeat.

Mayweather chose to fight the way he did against Maidana in the first fight. You see how easy he made it look in the rematch.

Oh and Mayweather was 37 when he fought Maidana. Should I bring up 37 year old Margarito's perfomance from this past weekend where he got put on his ass by a 5'9 Jorge Paez and barely eeked out a decision.:lol: Nobody who struggles with Jorge Paez beats Mayweather.

Floyd would've beat Margarito silly. Especially if the fight happened
Around 2007 when his speed was still there. Floyd would still win afterwards, but might eat a little leather.

No, he wasn't prime, but he wasn't shot either.

Maidana gave Floyd hell because of his style, not because of Floyd's age.

Floyd chose to struggle in the 1st fight?

Everyone ages differently, and I've never said that Marg would have beaten Floyd.

    Another great post.

Floyd's style and lack of ring wear and tear allowed him to preserve his body.

He's only been in 1 war his entire career. Which is what happened when he stepped up in class to fight a HOF caliber fighter in his prime like Castillo.

He retired in 07-09 when the Welterweight division was an absolute fire. Pacquiao, Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Martinez, etc. all these guys were firing on all cylinders at that time.

He didn't struggle. The fight was just more competitive than people expected because Floyd set the bar so high, that people lose their minds when he actually loses a few rounds.

And I know people age differently but my point is that Floyd while still a superb fighter at 37, had clearly lost a step from his younger days and people need to stop creating hypotheticals pairing old Floyd against everyone else in their prime.

Ironic that Mayweather fans are complaining about people talking about past prime Mayweather.

Y'all been going on and on for years about him beating faded versions of Cotto, Pacquiao, Mosley, DLH, Marquez, Gatti, etc.

I wasn't aware Martinez was at 147 back then?:think With that said The haters will say PBF is the only fighter who was prime his whole career the 37 year old version is just as good as the 29 year old version.

It works both ways. People are quick to try and discredit a Floyd victory by saying his opponent was faded, but then they turn around and act like Floyd had a never ending prime and is immune to aging.

If DLH was old at 34, and Cotto was Old at 32, then why isn't Floyd old at 37. Its a moronic double standard.

The hell you talking about? Pacquiao gets **** for his KO losses when he was green all the time. As well as KTFO6 when he had been on decline for about 2-3 years by that point.

Roy Jones gets ****ted on for KO losses even though he's so shot he can't even do roadwork anymore.

This is it because Maidana forced his style of fight on PBF early cut him with a head butt which bothered PBF they actually think he beat PBF. Forgetting the fact that Maidana did nothing the second half of the fight. I saw this fight at a sports bar and you had people losing their minds early in the fight as if Maidana was landing clean at will and PBF out on his feet.:rofl When in reality he was roughing PBF up by being dirty and not really landing that many clean shots.

    :deal
PBF is older than all of these guys but yet remains prime while they're shot. How does that work?
