It is clear Margarito had his gloves loaded before the Mosley fight. And as for his warrior mentality the more i think about it the more sense it makes. If Marg had loaded gloves for previos fights, and knew this, he would know that eventually he could get to his opponent and wear him down. Thus, he would be willing to walk through punishment as he knows that when he clips his opponent, it will hurt more than a usual punch. Against Mosley, he didnt seem to have that confidence. Sure, Mosley hits ultra hard for a welter, but Marg has had a lot of punishment before. When he looks to his corner after his stoppage he looks like a guilty man that just got rumbled also. Dont get me wrong, im willing to let him back in purely as we do not know for certain his gloves were loaded previously. We do not know exactly how dangerous the substance in his gloves is/was, as it hasnt been identified exactly, and we do not know exaclty how much Marg knew about his wraps, i.e., was it his or his trainers fault. However, i dont agree with second chance rubbish. Saying he deserves a second chance is basiclaly saying, ah he cheated, but he done his time. If he had cheated, he most certainly HAS NOT done his time. He should be in jail for umpteen years, THEN give him a second chance.
my knowledge about shane ain't great, i'm only just learnin about the steroids stuff, so i will reserve opinion untill i get the full facts. one thing is for sure i would never condone any boxer taking steroids because it is blatant cheating. now answer me a couple of questions what do you think about a fighter who blatantly loaded his gloves to do maximum damage to an opponent? do you think the only time tony loaded his gloves was against mosley?

He's give alot to boxing deserves the opportunity to redeem himself like shane

Loading his gloves bad move, shouldnt of done that and i honestly dont know if he did and saying that neither do you and afta watching the pac cotto fight pac did exactly the same fing to cottos face and tony hits harder than pac
Thats fair enough. This is what i am saying though. If you say he deserves a second 'chance', you therefore imply he DID cheat. And if he DID cheat first time round, there should NOT be a second time. He should be banned. I dont mind having him back, allowing him to return once his punishment is over, because there just is not enough evidence to hand him a lifelong ban from a career which as you say, he feeds his family from. It has to be stressed though, that i say that because of a lack of proof otherwise, not because i believe his sob story or buy into his lovely warrior persona. I was big fan, and the Cotto win only improved my support of him, but if you make your fists very hard, in a sport where you hit your opponent in the head with your fists, you should indeed be banned for life. Anyone who still actually supports this guy without being at least intriuged into how he wore so many opponents down so brutally (see: Martinez, Lujan, Cintron x2, Cotto) is either stupid or just plain ignorant.
Lets take a look at him versus elite competition: Cintron out slugged and brutally KO'd Cotto he out slugged and brutally KO'd Mosley they found the plaster, and he looked ****ing anemic and got dominated. Not saying he was cheating his entire career but judging what he did against the other two fighters and what he did against Mosley, it is easily believable that he might have been doing this at least since the fight with Paul Williams.
Steroids are better then loaded gloves WTF is that one guy smoking ? To me steroids should be forgave but not forgot Mosley did cheat, he made a mistake and has to live with it. Margarito went it knowing he had an extra chance to murder his opponet and who knows who long he was doing it. That can not be forgave.
yeah i defintly felt that he looked guilty when fighting mosley. he almost looked like a conman who's card trick failed infront of him and his rabbit. he seemed very apologetic especially when he was tapping gloves and smiling. but in jail, why? you dont put a guy in jail for attempted assault hew still has to land th epunches to make it an assault. it's a hurt game. hitting guys is what they do. adding a layer of gauze prolly makes them hit harder, but they are already hitting VERY hard. it's just an extra tip to an iceberg, steroids makes you land more and land harder. and his gloves were not loaded they were padded. laoded implies extra weight
What the HELL do you want a pinky promise???? And by the way....speak for yourself in welcoming that cheating ass back !!!
Thats why i say IF he had cheated, before the mosley fight. Of course he cant be given such a punishment without evidence of actually using the plaster-like substance in his previos victories. Why jail? We have all seen the case of Luis Resto, and that whole fiasco. The 'padding' that was on Marg's gloves prior to his bout with Mosley would supposedly have got harder as the fight wore on, making them heavier and his punch harder. I appreciate that what boxers do is dangerous anyway, but there fists are weapons, and if you try to cheat by making those weapons even more dangerous then they are, without using legal boxing equipment, it becomes a case that should be dealt not just by the boxing fraternity. Im no expert on law or whatever, but that is my view of things.
This has been covered before. Steroids on their own do not make a fighter better or hit harder or anything like that. There are tons of fat guys taking steroids under the ignorant assumption that a needle in their ass makes them stronger on its own. If I took steroids and you put bricks in yer gloves, You have the advantage. REGARDLESS Margarito does deserve a second chance. He did the crime, did the time and now we should welcome him back and give him a fair shot. I for one hope he does well.
Cheating is cheating whether it's loading gloves or steroids. To anyone that suggests that taking steroids is as 'bad' as loading your gloves, they are wrong. Here are two options: 1. fight someone who's on steroids 2. fight someone that has a brick in their gloves I know which I would rather do. One only needs to look back to fights where boxers have tampered with gloves to see the effects. I would suggest people watch this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1207649/ Seeing the damage that tampered gloves can have on another boxer will make anyone think again.
You're right. Cheating is cheating. I just don't like it when people talk ignorantly about steroids and just assume what they've seen on TV is legit. James Toney was on steroids against Ruiz and during a complete joke of a fight against Danny Batchleder. He wasn't a better fighter. Completely tamper with your wraps/gloves and you'll get a whole new fighter. Mosley isn't innocent but you can't compare their situations. Also to the moron who said "Margarito isn't American, Mosley is", Margarito was born in California.
