Where did you run into problems? Well, most of the time, Manny would find his way around the ring. That's when he was really effective, you know? That, and I think it was the fourth round where Tony got hit with a really solid left uppercut when he was trying to walk into Manny. That changed the fight around. http://boxing.fanhouse.com/2010/11/16/antonio-margaritos-trainer-speaks-on-manny-pacquiao-fight/
Where did you run into Problems? "Well, when that Lorry reversed into my guys face!" Margarito's corner are woeful, incompetent. So what if Antonio told them not to stop the bout. Joe Frazier did the same with Eddie Futch in the third fight with Ali, but Futch overruled him! Fighters health is Paramount! Look at the state of Margarito! Simply, he endured Punishment that he did not need to from the 8/9th round onwards!
No doubt Margarito felt he had to prove there were more strings to his bow than the plaster in his gloves. Displayed amazing heart, although I agree he probably should have been overruled. When a fighter is pulled from a fight, many viewers fail to distinguish between the fighter retiring and his corner throwing the towel in. If he was pulled, he would of faced accusations of being a quitter as well as a cheat. He may of jeopardised the remainder of his career, but he also went some way to restoring a degree of respect amongst the boxing community. Whilst I know he is a cheat, I also know he is a warrior and nothing has changed there.
Any accusations there may have been of him quitting had his corner pulled him out, would have been thrown out the window once those people see the state of Margarito's face! Surely? Look at him!
