Antonio McKee Implies Racism Of Him Not Being In The UFC | Steve Rattlesnake In an interview with Ben Fowlkes, Antonio McKee the current MFC LW champion and undefeated in the last 7 years somewhat blames racism of him not being in the UFC despite carrying a winning record under his belt. Im the best at what I do. I already know that. You see all these guys doing the same thing now, and Im better than all those guys who think they can do that. Sean Sherk, what does he do? He throws that sloppy overhand right with a blast double-leg. Matt Hughes, what does he do? Georges St. Pierre, he doesnt even get hit anymore. And afterwards, he says, Im not a brawler; Im a mixed martial artist. And then you have people talking about how great he is. I do exactly what you saw him do, but better! I think a lot of it is racist. And Im not saying racist against all black people necessarily, but racist towards me. You have these white guys who do the same exact thing, why doesnt anyone say this stuff about them? Why are they handpicking the minorities? Is it because youve got all these white guys, Harley-Davidson, Jack Daniels type people out there buying all the expensive tickets? Because I can understand that, but at least come out and say it. Dont tell me you got the best in there, because thats bs. Actually, the UFC is interested. You know what I know, its not just about how good you are. Theres a lot of other factors involved. I probably shouldnt say this because it might come back to bite me, but you remember when they brought back the 155 [pound] division. The guy that had stood with them the longest there was Yves Edwards. He lost one fight, got triangled, then had a stoppage due to a cut against Joe Stevenson and they cut him. What? You got white guys who have been knocked out three or four times and keep coming back. Chuck [Liddell] has been knocked out so many times they need to make a stone with his name on it. Now, if anyone should have gotten a shot at the title, it should have been Yves Edwards. But it wasnt. McKee On Jon Fitch: Hes still fighting in the UFC, still making big dollars. And, the big difference is, hes not undefeated for eight years. Im saying find someone to kick my a, shut me up, and Ill retire. When asked about the race is the reason why many fans dont like to watch him fight: No, not at all. I feel that way, but I dont think that way. The reason I feel that way is because I dont do anything different than Sean Sherk, Matt Hughes, St. Pierre. I do nothing different from them, except I do it better than them. Why did they let Yves Edwards go? He was a stand-up banger. Why didnt he get a rematch against Joe Stevenson? He got cut, but he was ahead on the scorecards. I understand. Its a business. Its not about whos the best.
to call this man the human blanket is an understatement, he's the human long johns. he makes chael sonnen look as exciting as zaromskis!
and dana has been bringing alot of black fighters in lately. in fact. he's een bringing in alot of minorities in general. he's hyping cain velasquez as the next big thing, this guy is a moron plain and simple. when he can actually finish a fight then maybe the ufc will start looking at him.
Don't know who this guy is so I looked em up on youtube. After watching one of his highlight vids I know why hes not in the ufc.
it would be one thing if his decision wins were high profile ass whoopins, but its nothing but 3 rounds of pure dry humping. dana's doin a good thing not signing this guy.
McKee is around 40 years old without an exiting fighting style. He better imply everything he can to draw attention, because time is running out.
" Dana White won't put me in the UFC because I'm black!I'm a minority!...Jon Jones?...Who's Rashad Evans?...Velaz...kwez? ..oh ****..James Toney is fighting?"
he is right though, he fights intelligently but boring like gsp. look there are demographics for everything, ufc being no exception.
you miss the point. dana white is trying to make money off these people. no i do not think that they are racist in that way. race means nothing when it come to money. but his style is gsps style. and is equally as successful at it. i understand where he is coming from
No, not like GSP at all. GSP advances his positions, and will on occasion look for the finish. In fact, he used to be very vicious, it is just recently that he has become conservative. Antonio has been the epitome of lay n' pray for over ten years.
