And has been ruled out of his fight with Fidel Maldonado Jr. Tommorow night. Maybe he had some undisclosed complications during camp, or maybe it's time for Orozco to make the jump to 147 pounds. DAMMIT I was looking foward to that fight.
The man deserves his props for actually trying to make weight instead of shamelessly coming over like so many have and using it to their advantage. No hate from me....
Never mind I found it. What the report may fail to mention is that local family members say he has had the stomach flu.
http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/18287701/ailing-antonio-orozco-ruled-fight-fidel-maldonado-jr I figure there had to be some undisclosed issues within camp that they didn't report.
Not blaming this incident in particular, but I can't understand why people whose job is to fight can not control their weight. They are athlete ffs, it's their livelihood. If a freaking movie star can add and shed pound for a movie, an athlete should be hovering around their fight weight. I have no sorry for them, it's just irresponsible.
Apparently Tony is underweight and that is the bigger issue. He was on weight pretty much all through camp. The bug just hit him and for 36 hours or so, he could not eat or drink anything and keep it down. I trust the source but I will check on it more tomorrow. I heard about the flu a couple days ago but I did not realize it was that bad. Too bad it would have been a good fight.
