Gonzaga drops Bigfoot twice and it's over. The ref waves it off immediately. Sad stuff. Bigfoot should really not be sanctioned to compete at this point. He's badly shot. Slower than ever and not that he was ever quick or durable but he's even easier to tag and take out these days. He's taken a boat load of punishment throughout his career as well.

Yeesh, Bigfoot's decline had been ugly for a looong time. I've been watching his fights through my fingers since he got knocked out by Struve. This is seriously unethical. I can only imagine what sort of a nightmare this guy's future will be, considering his very real endocrine problems as well as getting his lights shut off fight after fight for five years straight, on top of a career that already had some bad beatings and grueling wars.

I think its kind of weird that Gonzaga is back at it. I was under the impression that he was doing pretty well as a coach in BJJ. I doubt he's making a fortune as an instructor, but I think his team has a couple locations in New England. I mean I'm sure plenty of people would be happy to train under someone of his caliber on a daily basis. Does he really need the money?

Maybe its just such a struggle to fill that competitive void. :(

I tend to think that fighting on should be at the digression of the fighter themselves. But there are often times clear examples like Bigfoot over the last several years who need to be saved for themselves. Gonzaga has taken some pummellings but they've been more spread out where has Bigfoot must have been KOd close to 10 times in the last couple of years. Gabe fighting on is probably a mixture of both things. I don't think he's strapped for cash but this BKB fad is drawing a lot of past names in to earn a quick buck and yeah get those competitive juices flowing. I don't think it will ever be a serious thing like some seem to think. It'll produce some colorful characters surely and draw in washed up names from different combative sports disciplines but it will always be relegated to freakshow status.
