I'm curious though, he was quite the skinny one as a LHW, I wonder how he would be as a heavy? Taken that he's quite tall, he wouldn't sport a belly like Toney
Why would you think Tarver wouldn't have a chance against the heavyweights around today? Pudgy Russians, a circus freak, a bigmouth that won't fight a credible opponent, and a puffed up light heavyweight , who wasn't even the best at 175. Tarvers comback makes perfect sense. Look who's getting title shots. Shannon Briggs being recycled for 6th time, and Albert Sosnowski???!!! Tarver wants some of that loose change , can't blame him. Have a few fights, get a shot at a Klitchko. Sounds like a plan.
you're all racists. Tomasz Adamek moves up and he's the greatest fighter of this generation. Antonio Tarver moves up and catches nothing but heat. Racists!!! :hi:
Adamek was drained as **** to make lhw, was still a large cruiser and although he is a small heavy he has proven he can beat good heavyweights (I still think both Klitschkos would beat him easily though) Tarver is 41, has lost his last 2, will have been inactive for 18 months by the time he fights, is a natural lhw and has never fought above 175. Great comparison.
Noting to do with race but Adamek has an exciting style and is not 41 years old he's 33. Also Adamek made the stop at Cruiserweight first. Many people don't view Tarver as a serious threat in the Heavyweight Division but could see Adamek beating a K2 brother or Haye for a title. I know Tarver was better than Adamek at 175 I know Haye was better than Adamek at Cruiserweight but Adamek is a exciting Heavyweight who at least gives us hope of beating a K2 brother and bringing excitement to the division. While I think Tarver could slick his way to a decision over the safe K2 brothers most people don't think he could.
How old is Tarver - 42 or something ? Let me suggest a HW - SUPER Senior SIX tournment: Tarver vs. Hopkins Toney vs. Holyfield Nielsen vs. Skelton
