I was saying the exact same thing to a mate in the pub tonight. He wasn't having it at all , and the guy likes his boxing.

UMM, you are wrong. It is a ten point must system , meaning at least one fighter must be awarded 10 points, but both can.

how about when the winner of a round was deducted for a foul? does he get a minus 1 from his otherwise 10 point score?

This. And it does happen. Off the top of my head, Maidana/Ortiz round 1.

I give even rounds all the time. It makes more sense to me if no fighter was clearly the winner

in a 10 point must system at least one fighter must get 10 points, so if he gets a point deducted I think the other guy automatically gets 10 but not sure

That can't be true. If a guy is winning a round, then commits a foul and gets a point deducted, then the other guy gets an extra point to make 10- they lose 2 points on 1 foul. Can't be true

is it because someone MUST be scored a 10? or do they do the foul deductions at the end of the 12th round, deducting the fouls from the total score?
