It is not " When You Turn Fourty, you too washed up to fight"

B-HOP became Light Heavyweight champion at age 46
George Foreman became Heavyweight Champion at age 45
Joe Wallcott Became Heavyweight Champion at age 37
Holyfield got ROBBED in a title fight Vs Russian Nicolai Valuev in Russia with Russian Judges, where he looked like he won a close UD at age 47.

And Now! - Antonio Tarver becomes IBO Crusierweight Champion at age 42

If you have it in your Heart to fight. You can Fight!

Enough with the " Holyfield needs to retire" "Barrera Needs to retire" "Tarver Needs too retire" even, Juan Manuel Marquez needs to retire"

These Guys decide for themselves. They may be washed up. But they can still fight, until THEY think otherwise.

And then, you put there opponents down like Jean Pascal and Danny Green.

WRONG! Pascal fought top contenders and is a good fighter.
And also, Danny Green bet undefeated BJ Flores. Also, KO'd fighters such as Manny Siaca, Roy Jones Jr. ( Not near Prime ), and Paul Briggs.

Give old legends a chance is my point.

Tarver is a guy with a lot of savvy, reach, and boxing ability...so he probably has some ability to fight even if he's not young anymore.

If anything that shows you need to have the right flawed opponent in front of you, Foreman was NOT very good in his 40s, no matter what anyone says. Hopkins is a great fighter who also knows how to pick his opponents, although I will say this, up until about age 40 he was in top form.

the fighter hopkins "picked" was a stronger, faster light heavy weight champ who would beat anyone else at the weight. stop hating and give credit where it's do. i bet Pascal would've crushed calzaghe. he's never fought anyone who was a true lightheavy and fast and powerful. now hopkins is taking on a big, skillful southpaw with power. quit hating

I'd have to agree, Teddy Atlas went on record to do the samething. Still decent accomplishment for Tarver not as good as Hopkins but still good.

You can have it in your heart or in your ass, at a certain age different people react different. The fact that these guys did what they did makes THEM special. Not everyone can do that even if they have it in the heart, when the body fails you there's nothing you can do.

We live in a youth driven sociaty and people tend to believe that once you get past 35 then its downhill but thats not true. The human body is a remarkable machine and if taken care of properly it will perform at a high level well into the fortys. The youngsters are saying, those guys are too old to do that and the older guys are saying WATCH ME.
