Antonio Tarver Vs. Chad Dawson II Round By Round

    Round 5 is very pro Tarver as he opens up and lets his hands go. Chad Dawson seems very happy to just take those punches as though he has no interest in fighting. Basically Chad counters, takes a bunch of punches, counters and rinse wash repeat. Dawson ROCKS Tarver with a counter straight and then takes the rest of the round off. Dawson lands a rocket tot he body and Tarver is holding on. Tarver punched himself out and Dawson is now muscling him around. Round ends with a clinchy.

    So here's my question on scoring the round:

    Does Dawson lose the round automatically for using the Rope A Dope without permission? Or do we credit him the round for using it effectively?

    tarver looks slow as **** but when his punches land, they seem
    to surprise/shock chad a bit. the man looks slow and weak
    but it looks like he still has a little pop.

    A closer but, in my mind, clear round for Dawson. They're actually exchanging a little bit more now. Tarver just makes for ugly fights most of the time.

    Round 5

    Dawson landing in nice combinations, landing some solid jabs. Some of those punches from Dawson are blocked but Tarver not doing much to counter. Tarver lands some punches early but just "keep contact" type of punches with no serious power, Tarver's punches seem wide too I won't be surprised if he runs out of gas soon or even stopped late.

    Dawson is taking too many lefts, he is going to get hurt big time if he keeps letting that happen. Dawson's wife is a big girl.
