    I hope he doesn't get a shot.

Tarver wont be able to beat any of the contenders to earn a title shot. So it doesn't suprise me that he is wanting to challenge one of the champions right now. Haye or either Klitschko brother will smash on him within 6 rounds.

Hell if Wladimir and Haye can come to terms to make a fight. Let Chisora and Tarver fight. Chisora will still get a payday and he has a chance of winning.

Man you cant hate Tarvers hustle.... the guy was never really great or even good, he was merely OK at best. As is true with most things, if you desire something so much, study it and prepare for it, when you have it -- being the only thing you wanted, then you only have downhill afterwards. His claim to fame and his desire was to beat RJJ ... he got a past it, but still functional Jones and KO'd him. He has milked that KO for everything it is worth. He hasn't done much after KO'ing Jones, besides decisioning him, which was pathetic as Jones wasn't doing anything in most of their 3rd fight, lose to superb Journeyman Glen Johnson, and lose a horrible lopsided decision to B-Hops. This guy has done nothing really, he doesnt deserve to share the same ring with the Kilts and the only reason why he even has a name to be considered is due to RJJ's mythical status he held for many many years.

Tarver is a true hustler.. damn what he has done with that RJJ win is nothing less than impressive. He has the gift of gab and used it to get all types of deals, get superhead for a brief moment(ROFL), heck even to possibly get a shot at a heavy title for doing absolutely nothing. And the kicker is... in his mind... he has never loss a fight...!

So I cant hate on Tarvers hustle, if he wants to be brutally KO'd, then its all good.

If Tarver can beat Tony Thompson, which I doubt, he should get a title shot.

Well, Tarver's certainly not ridiculously undersized at 6'2" and he's never been stopped. I've seen worse mismatches, really. No doubt about it that he has no chance against either brother but his claim is as good as any out there considering how Haye ducked them multiple times, Adamek still feels the need to participate in preperation fights by stepping down the opposition every time he steps in the ring and Povetkin who'd rather consider moving back to the amateurs than facing Wlad.

So yeah, why not. It's not such a significant step down from Wlad's/Vitali's previous opponents anyway.

Anyone can outpoint Balboa, in his prime tarver would have been out in 3, Balboa had trouble timing him and chasing him down...tarver started to avoid rather than engage, Balboa deserved a rematch...

People saying that Tarver is looking for payday are not seeing straight. Fighting the Klitschkos is not a payday. Unless you can score a mandatory position, with the mandated purse split. Voluntary Klitschko opponents are not highly paid considering it's a title fight. Tarver has enough of a name that if he wanted money, he could fight two scrubs and make as much as he would fighting a Klitschko.

I guess he could make some decent money fighting Haye in England. He's about the right age for a Haye opponent too!

But, truth is Tarver ha s a nice commenting gig on Shotime. He's fighting because he's delusional, not because he's broke or greedy. He sees how crap the heavyweights are and he thinks that he, even at his advanced age, can cheeseburger his way to a belt. He's wrong. But in his defense, has been Tarver is still equal to or better then never was's like Chmabers, Chisora, Harison, etc.

Tarver's done, and his style is one of the worst in boxing, the Dawson fights were brutally boring, the Aguilera fight was ****ing horrible, the only reason to watch this fight is to watch Tarver get brain damage, if you enjoy that kind of ****.

Let him fight Holyfield or Toney. Winner gets Wlad. Loser retires.
