I dont know how Tarver will fair against Woods. I believe if the Tarver that fought Hopkins and Muriqi turns up Woods will definitely win but if he comes out like he was in the three Jones fights then I can see him winning possibly by late stoppage your views?
I'd pick the Tarver of the Jones fights to beat Woods by a clear decision, but he's declined. I'm taking Woods by decision...
I think Tarver could be damaged goods & he won't enjoy the hard style of fight Woods will bring to him. I see a late stoppage win for Woods.
Clinton will surprise a lot of people.....he can bang and won't get knocked out.....Tarver has to be super active in every round to pull it out the bag.....although I fancy a hometown robbery a la Malinaggi
This fight will be interesting. I think Tarver has faded enough where it's really hard to call this one. If this is the Tarver that fought RJJ, i think Tarver by UD. But now, i don't know.
Tarver is going to win, as many posters have already pointed out, Tarver does seem a bit faded, but I was still impressed by his one punch power, it seems anytime he landed on Muriqi it snap his head back. Im perdicting a late round stoppage for the "Legend Killer".
I'd say it's 60-40 in Tarver's favour......Tarver may be fading but Woods is 35 and boxing away from England so it should suit Balboa's buddy
I'm going with Woods by late stoppage. He has more in the tank and more to prove than Tarver. The only reason Tarver's shotness hasn't become more apparent is because he's been fighting non-existent competition. He was useless in the Hopkins fight, and Bernard no longer punches that much himself. Tarver hasn't looked on his game since Johnson II.
Hopkins makes alot of people look bad, he's just a craty vet. I agree with observation about Muriqi fight, however Muriqi is a tough guy and came to fight. That being said Woods better come with some fire and get on the inside or despite tarver's one demensional style he'll get iced.
I think what most people simply don't realize is that ever since Hopkins moved up to LHW, he's been a different fighter. He's been considerably more active and aggressive than in his previous few fights at MW. And not only that, Tarver came in with the wrong game plan. He was only looking for that big shot with the left hand and doing nothing else. Come on. Get real. The last guy in the world you can hit with a flush shot is the Executioner. Tarver usually mixes in the jab to set up his left. He did none of that. So while Hopkins did look great, Tarver didn't execute his usual game plan for some reason.
Tarver can hardly call himself the "Legend Killer." Jones has risen back and is outshining Antonio. Fu*k Milkdud.
