2007 I had just come off reading a Mickey Walker bio. Burley just gets victimized. I remember when the Great Walker Smith died, I think the consensus was Burley was the greatest living fighter, and was in everyone's top 5, but ignorance has just seen him slide down my rankings.

As for Fitzy, he has a got a lot of kudos in recent years, and on top of this, being a Brit, I by default have got to have a Countryman in my top 10, if I am relegating Wilde down to 11...;)

As it stands now Benny Leonard is my #1, Ray Leonard is #2, Pernell Whitaker #3 and Ray Robinson is #4. Now anything is possible but the above four are safe within that group. That dose not mean that the more I learn that within that group there won't be some movement such as Ray Leonard from 4 to 2.
From 5 on my list today might differ from my list tomrow. There are more guys who deserve to be ranked than there are rankings.

Robinson is getting more kudos as a direct result of gavilan looking better every time I see him.

I'm reconsidering my top 300 or so in some detail atm.

I've done my top 40 heavyweights and am in the process of doing my top 50 lhw's. I'll continue down to fly and then go through the inbetweeners before putting it altogether.

My only criteria for entry is that at some point in their career I consider them to have been the best in their weight class. I'm basically ranking everyone I think has been the best at some point.

Floyd is getting closer to top 20, a convincing win v Pacquaio would see him a top 15 lock.
