Any chance GG devastates Canelo like Marquez did to Pac?

As the previous post suggested, the Bivol fight offers a handy cut-out-and-keep guide to how to comprehensively beat Canelo, but it does help if you have the skills and height of Bivol. Golovkin is not the same fighter as Bivol, and though he's obviously one of the better boxers of his generation (and one of my all-time favourites), and although he unequivocally won the first fight, he's an old man now in boxing terms and one does wonder what he can bring to the third fight that he couldn't in the first two - he needs to KO Alvarez to get a decision. His chin is sheer titanium but he's always been hittable and I wouldn't be surprised to see him in some trouble against this bigger, one-bombing version of a still-prime Canelo. I'm a little worried for him and I'd prefer the trilogy fight wasn't happening.

The only way GGG wins this imho is to guts it out close in with Canelo, to run him to his redline and gas him out, blow him out late. If he tries to box Canelo at range it isnt going to work, he's lost too much speed.

Nah...too long in the tooth now sadly...he'd have to be 100% willing to get koed...Marquez walked through fire to do what he did that night....I'd love to see it but I don't think GGG can do it after 40 ... although what do I know .he could be ****ed off at the previous 2 results and make his last stand

The result will be purely depend on TRT & steroids. That's what things have come to.

It seems he walked through fire to KO a possessed version of Murata. I think he is plenty pissed but doesn't talk about it. Then you have Canelo saying it's personal because GGG'S been talking about him this whole time. Golovkin needs to put this mentally ill liar out.

JMM was a natural counterpuncher. He even practiced that KO shot of Manny in sparring. GGG is too old and reluctant to take risks. I'm glad he's getting paid but.... seeing fighters taking unnecessary punishment is hard.

I agree...but do you think he still has it in him ...I'm not sure ..his timings still great..but he's slower than he was and I'm not sure he will be able to land a better shot on Alvarez than he already has

You hope. Canelo's going to wish he fought Bivol rather than an 40 year old GGG. GGG'S going to get him.

It seems they are going to fight so I'm backing GGG and looking for positive possibilities like I did for Hearns rematch with Leonard. GGG should have more power at 168lbs and he wants revenge, Canelo has to make up reason's to be angry. I hope GGG humbles his a#$.

You may have a point. GGG looked vulnerable to the body vs. Chenko and Murata. If CA focuses downstairs it could end up being a bad night for GGG. But you can't write off the old man completely. He''s still a threat.

Simply answer is no. Canelo has better skills than lil g and is the better counterpuncher.

Because it apparently needed to be said,

Gennady Golovkin is no Juan Manuel Márquez. Not even close.

Don't let the screen door hit ya, g.
