it is well documented that shane is a gym rat. couple that w/ naz who knows what he's doing and i don't think ssm will "over train." shane's fitness won't be what they have to focus on. its a gameplan. but i agree w/ cubex, the inactivity is what worries me.

Mosley will be a good win for Mayweather. But this Mosley is a shell of what he once was.

from what i have saw. Shane still looks pretty damn good. still got speed, power, stamina and chin. Shane declined floyd in his prime while floyd was still green. Sometimes you just can't match everything even. Well Floyd's hands has been declining over the years too.

And so the excuses begin. I knew it was only a matter of time. It's sickening that no matter what Money does, he's damned if he does and damned if he don't.

Really? In most sports, and particularly olympic ones, the entire science of training is based around getting the athlete to peak at the right time. Saying there is no such thing as over-training is so far outside the stratesphere of knowledge for most elite coaches and scientists that it is the equivalent of saying the earth is flat.

Anybody who is on here doubting the legitimacy of the initial question or saying things like over training doesnt exist are as one poster has already noted flying in the face of scientific knowledge. For a guy in his late thirties this is a major issue. Obviously he will break from training at this point until a later date however at this point in his career having to peak twice in such a short space of time is hardly ideal.

Why do you have to immediately jump there? I am not a Floyd hater and this is not an excuse session. I was asking a legitimate question with only Shane in mind to see if other boxing fans thought that this situation would effect him. Its not easy to stop at the end of training, not fight, then put together a new game plan, and start a new training session. I would have asked this question regardless of the opponent.

Perhaps if the fight were in March, yes. With the fight being in May that does not seem to be a risk.
