Any chance Pac has would be thrown out the window if he attempts to box and move.

Hit him then step off to the right when Mayweather does the shoulder roll then Mayweather has no counter.

The plan you suggest is exactly the plan Roach sent Pacquiao to use against Marquez in their 3rd fight. Roach thought Marquez would be to slow and Marquez would get embarrassed by Pacquiao looking to in and out and move to the laterals.

What we got was Marquez coming foward and probing with both the jab and the right hand to the body. When Pacquiao was about to counter, Marquez would pull and counter him instead.

Marquez was always two and three steps ahead as far as anticipating what Pacquiao would do and was doing.
The mind of Marquez was always in tune with what he knew Pacquiao was doing.
Mayweather's mind in the ring functions similarly. All the great boxers that know how to time an opponent do.

If Pacquiao is to win, he cant allow Mayweather time to think, and boxing with him will only do that.

I would think so. Manny could unload fast combos and get out before the counter shot. While Manny is firing away Floyd will be shoulder rolling and slipping shots looking to counter . I don't think he needs to do this all fight just enough to get Floyd to come out of his defensive shell and come after him.

When he's facing a bigger fighter he does'nt stay at punching distance as long. There's been more movement against them.
He tried that same strategy in Marquez 3.
Thread starter is suggesting he use that strategy vs Mayweather which I believe would be a disaster.

Pac's footwork is garbage. He bounces in and out. Floyd will time that and Manny will be sleeping again.

Yes, garbage! Why can't he cut off the ring? Shoddy footwork. Bounding in and out is not footwork. Rolling under a shot is positioning, not footwork. Tell me when and how you were impressed by Pac's footwork?

It could work, but if he loses with that strategy him and Roach will forever be remembered for losing his biggest fight by not using his strengths.
