He just avenged his brutal 2007 KOTY loss to Gonzaga, in a come from behind finish. [yt]6OG-lato4aE[/yt] first fight skip to 7:27 for KO http://giant.gfycat.com/FatalUnfinishedImperialeagle.gif rematch. He had to dig deep to pull out the win, Gonzaga didn't make it easy. Cro Cop was 2 rounds in the hole, and was busted up pretty badly in the second round with elbows from the mount. Fortunately he was never seriously hurt, although bloodied the cut didn't affect his vision and he was able to rally and stop Gonzaga with a series of standing elbows followed by some ground/pound to top it off. The irony? In the first fight Gonzaga busted Cro Cop with elbows on the ground that (at least according to Cro Cop) took up out of the fight, and he was still out of it just before he got taken out with his own patented move, a high kick. In a sense Cro Cop gave Gonzaga a taste of his own medicine, without the patented high kick finish.
I was just about to make a thread on this. Big win for Crocop. As a fan it was the most satisfying win since he KO'd Wanderlei Silva and Josh Barnett in one night to win the Pride FC open weight GP. He was never the same fighter again after that night imo. I'd like to see him go out on this win. Maybe he could have one more fight against Big Nog to try and avenge that loss.

Agreed. In his prime, Mirko was one of the scariest men on Earth. Easily in the top 2-3. Dude was a machine. I'd love to see him rematch Nog or smash Mir.
Was glad to see him avenge the Gonzaga loss, it seemed like that was the catalyst for the downfall of his career.
:thumbsup WAR Mirko! :thumbsup I thought a while ago that he should have retired. I was wrong. He also had a good s**** with Jarrell Miller.
