I've only seen crowd trouble at one event, that was Big Jon vs Fury (the first fight), you knew something was going to happen there, infact, the trouble was more outside than inside the venue. It is a shame though, because as with football aggro, it is a tiny fraction who spoil it for the majority.
i go to the amateurs here in Dublin quite a bit. i remember going a good few years ago with my dad, i was only about 13 or so. anyway, a bit of argy bargy broke out between a few pikeys, the ring announcer got into the ring between rounds and said, and i quote, "IF YOU'SE WANT TO FIGHT, GO TO A FOOTBALL MATCH" the announcer was applauded, and the fighting stopped, hilarious stuff
Same mate, i got a Bottle thrown at me for standing up and clapping wile everyone was booing :!:. the build up to that fight had me wantin kats to win,**** fight poster shitty band and that **** xfactor reject doing the national anthem :-(
Oh I forgot her... it was a painful evening. I did enjoy Katsidis flattening Mitchell like that. It was certainly dramatic!
That's half the battle now...:yep They allow beer to be brought into the seats so people can just keep drinking and drinking and drinking...:beer Its a ****in shambles when idiots start carrying on at the boxing...:fire We were sat with some Welsh lads and we shook hands before and after the fight...:yep May the best man win...:deal
I'd been drinking all day and didn't want to flatten anybody Every time I've been to the Echo it's gone off, the first time was opposite us when Smigga was stopped by DeGale.... the second time was some West Ham fighting with the locals, and last week up on the balcony. Being chased through Liverpool later on though was kinda funny, though it probably wouldn't have been if we'd been caught :yikes
I saw a fight at the Clev - Polish guy / Groves - Degale night. Some big gypsy fella took his top off and was threatening a black dude called 'Del Boy'. Terrible, you wont see boxers acting like that during a boxing event! :think
There must be a riot at at least ten amateur shows i attend every year. Something about watching boxing makes the generals think they are hard as **** apparently
