I don't mind, if it's sold I'll have a couple of pints but wont be missing any fights to stand outside drinking as you may as well just go down the pub. Some of the behaviour is disgraceful I agree but money talks.
Most of the fights at boxing events are caused by women in my experience. Some lad will make a remark or be caught eyeing her up, so with a few beers on board she starts effing and jeffing, before long the ''offender'' and her chap are piling into each other. His mates invariably step in (as you do) and it's all going off. Better stewarding would help, they're either too forceful or just stand there picking their nose, pricks the lot of them. The ones at Leeds rugby games should all be shot and killed, manhandling pensioners and small children..... one even tried segregating a mixed group of Leeds and Bradford fans, even though they were all at the game together. Someone ought to have told him that there's no segregation at rugby
I hear what you're all saying, and I don't necessarily disagree BUT if any of you gobby ****s set foot on my manor and start cheering for some out of town fighter you're gonna end up on life support. When I go to the boxing I want to get tanked up, hit the charlie and then see some local fella inflict heinous amounts of violence on some guy from some shithole up north or something. Any out of towner cheering for something different is trying to spoil my night, and I don't take kindly to that kind of disrespect.
People weren't even allowed to drink in the arena that night, only the foyer. I like a couple of beers watching the boxing, security should sort out the idiots who cant handle their ale instead of penalizing boxin fans who fancy a drink in their seats.
Exactly. If someone is too tanked up outside, don't let them in. Most of the troublecausers have probably been at it all day and are seeing double by the time the action starts. This obviously doesn't include me, though you can leave Dan outside to freeze to death if you wish.
As a big boxing fan i am not ashamed to admit ive only been to 2 live fights... The last one i went to was Hatton's at the Excel.... So many pricks in suits bowling around like Gangsters it was unreal.. I didnt enjoy the experiance at all and being Greek, i felt pretty uncomfortable all night.... Its a shame really, id like to go to more but its not worth the hassle
............give the small hall shows a go.You can sit where you want, apart from ringside. If some ***** near you, whos makin you or your kid, wife uncomfortable, simply jog on to another area. You can spot the crowd of dicks a mile off, then you avoid.thumbsup
Sorry lads gotta disagree. You can take away the beer all you want, lads will just stay out of the arena longer, get more drunk and then come in after the undercard wrecked out of their heads, go into the toilets get beaked off their nut then come in and do more damage. This is a working mans sport, and taking alcohol out of the equation will only alienate the casuals fan more. Unfortunately the sport isnt popular enough to be able to afford to do so, as theirs not enough fans such as ourselves to fill arenas constantly.
Fair does mate i'm only talking on experience. That is definately the mentality over this side of the water though. It's worse than football here now as football is pricing many out. Big Shows are only every couple of months so it's more afordable than footie and lads can actually get tickets to the boxing so they can all go together.
true, having lived in manchester for a few years myself i know the score as usual the 10% ruining it for 90%:dead
Thats EXACTLY what happened at Haye-Enzo mate. The vast majority stayed at the bars, missed all the undercard and only came in to the arena when the bars had shut just as Mitchell-Johanseen was starting. Didn't stop the trouble one bit IMHO.
