very fond of the cuban style of boxing ever since watching cotto have the more cuban style from working with his pedro. Then watching gamboa , to watching rigondeaux. I've never been so impressed, it's boxing with flash. The movement impresses me the most and the ability to link punches together while rigondeaux has such good accuracy i was impressed with his performance against teon, even though it's not great competition. It shows his potential as a pro, even when teon fought safe , was never hurt just a bunch of flash knock downs from perfect shots. :happy

I'm curious as to how Abril is allowed to fight. Hopefully more fighters follow that trend. They deserve the opportunity but leaving your family behind is such a hard task, and you can't drag them out here without a guarantee of success.

Abril came to this country with a visa, he won the lottery (not money, USA visa) back in Cuba.

I can't wait to see Abril/cubans box again. The elephant tranquilizers weren't working, his fights on dvr should do the trick.

Are any of them planning to defect? I don't think that's the type of thing you announce in public.

If someone is under suspicion of defection would be immediately locked up and sent back to Cuba.
Don't forget what happened to Rigo and Lara in brazil

After being sent back to Cuba he wasn't allow in a ring anymore , Castro himself made it clear despite the efforts of personalities like Stevenson.Somehow he found his way out regardless the narrow vigilance. Rigo was an icon too valuable for propaganda like Stevenson was on his time, only that Rigo elected he wanted to go on his own.
