Derrick Gainer was boring.... then become an exciting fighter. Then he went full circle and overstayed his welcome in boxing while becoming boring again.

I wouldn't call him boring but Whitaker changed his style after his first "loss" to Ramirez. Early on, he moved a lot more - after that loss, he moved in circles; he avoided shots and stayed on his bike without his back touching the ropes.

People wouldn't call him exciting but, for the best part of a decade, he threw 70+ punches a round without running. Maybe not exciting but eminently watchable.

Canelo Alvarez. He's shown big improvements and become a lot more exciting to watch since the Floyd fight. I remember Floyd vs Canelo was pretty uneventful. Canelo lets his hands go more now,and he's given us several highlight reel KO's recently.
