I have noticed that the reason for any non american fighter being hated or disliked on these forums is because of the Americans.

I gues people forget that last year Floyd Mayweather was probably the most hated fighter on this forum........ I guess that is because he wasn't American:huh

Or the reason why Manny Pacquiao is so liked and respected by the American public is only because he is American.

Yeah. Just about all my favorite active fighters today are not from the U.S. And I can't stand Mayweather though I do respect his skills.

Sure I would love to root for an American and it's a plus, but it's the goods in the ring that make me a fan. This country is too obsessed with other sports these days unfortunately.

America got competitive fights and doesn't have the hometown stack as much as other countries. also we would not charge a PPV for a Abraham vs Raul type fight. That was out right disgusting.

RJJ got his share of hate in his prime, Mayweather, Lewis, Tyson, Hopkins, Pacquiao(now), DLH and many more. When a fighter is #1 P4P whether he's American or whatever he will be hated by losers.

It does seem like the Europeans have less of a problem admiring American fighters than the American fans do admiring European fighters. A lot of Euros favorite fighters have been American or Puerto Rican or Mexican. It probably has to do with TV exposure over the years. We don't get to see Euro fighters much over here and they do show American fighters regularly over there.

Excellent post. This incessant ****ing nonsense about Americans hating all non-Americans really is pathetic. There are 2 Americans in the p4p top 10 of the American magazine The Ring, and none in the top 3. Fights involving non-Americans fill venues in Vegas. I frequently see American fans inclugin guys like Langford and Duran in their all-time p4p top 10, with guys like Fitzsimmons, Arguello, Wilde and Chavez highly ranked as well. It's just a tired old whine from people who think their own favourite fighter should be universally recognized as the greatest, when they simply don't deserve it.
