Yeah. Thinking of starting boxing. Any good gyms near Burwood you guys know of? Preferably one I could reach within 15-20 minutes one way.

    Cheers.

If your just starting out..best to try the PCYC and learn the basics from there.

Both belmore and Burwood are good gyms

Both are right next to the train stations

Burwood in Deane Street and Belmore in Burwwod road

Both on the Southern side of the Railway

Sam Soliman will be finishing off his prep for his next fight at Burwood

I would go to the one that is closer

    both very good gyms

Though Burwwod has a basketball court where Belmore has a little one out the front

both have good weights rooms as well

Thanks for the info mate..do you train there as well? I went there yesterday for the trial and the coach wasn't there (apparently he only comes on mon, weds and fri). Do you know who he is?

    Thank you.

Btw- is Mundine's gym a good choice? I've heard tons of good things about the atmosphere of the place but don't know if walking around in Redfern is a wise thing to do :/

Not for the next few years. I know the best trainers are probably in Cuba/Mexico/USA but yeah...trying to pay off my mortgage lol

No not sure who the trainer is ATM

however will make a few calls and find out if he is any good

Mundines gym is good not too far from Redfern Railway station

pretty good down the block these days so wouldn't worry about any dramas there at all

Yeah, could you do that please? I asked the guy at the counter and he said the coach was registered with the NSW boxing inc, had no criminal record etc

    Nothing on his skills though...

Went to Belmore PCYC 2 weeks ago. Good trainer down there named Ronnie Sinclair. Works your ass off. I couldn't walk for 2 days lol. Need to get my fitness up. Trains from 6.30pm - 8pm. Theres another old guy down there named Johnny too.

Not too sure if Bill still trains at Burwood but he's not too bad either. But highly recommend checking out Belmore PCYC...Ill be there when I get off my lazy ass!
