Any heavyweights on the horizon with chance in hell at a lb-4-lb ranking?

Hell no, the Heavyweights now adays are terrible for the most part, no wonder why the UFC is so popular among young people. I dont see anyone on the horizon.

Wlad's not even in the top 10 P4P, let alone top 5. The guy hardly fights like a top 10 fighter, and seems to be getting worse in skill level fight after fight. I think if he beats guys like Povetkin, Peter, Haye, and Valuev, I think Ring will make some room for him in the top 10, for now he should be just outside the top 15 P4P IMO.

Wlad is close to rating as a top 10 p4p guy. The title defense, ring record, and skills are there.

I do think you could make somewhat of a case that Wlad is around #10.

I mean, the guy has beaten an incredible list of guys who have been in the top ten...if he was in a lower division (or a division with more talent, at least) he would be a definite pfp player for having cleaned out his division so thoroughly.

Wlad could retire in a top ten spot if he doesn't lose.

I've got Wlad top 10 right now. In the past 3 years, he's:

    1) unified 2 belts. Has 5 defenses.

    2) Won 9 straight fights, with only two going to distance. In these 9 fighters, he's faced a very diverse set of styles and has been effective vs all of them.

    3) Most of the 9 were ranked in the top 10 when Wlad beat them, and 4 of them (Byrd, Ibragimov, Peter, Brewster) were either current, former, or future beltholders.

Yes, some of his fights weren't terribly exciting, but it's unfair for me to punish him for that when the bottom line is he's winning against good (not spectacular, but not nearly as shitty as people make it out to be) competition convincingly.
